That’s the very first map of the first story campaign.

Oh, I don’t disagree that refried beans are Mexican. It’s just, when they are in everything, you’re probably dealing with TexMex.

[–] Best way to find out the history of an older business (about 100 years?) Randvek 5 points ago in Eugene

I’m not sure how much time you want to sink into it, but a quick trip to the Lane County Historical Society and having a chat there tends to be a good place to start.

My thought is if your entrees come with refried beans and Spanish rice, you’re probably Tex-Mex rather than Mexican. Just my opinion, I suppose.

[–] My Simmon theory that I’m 100% certain of Randvek 25 points ago in KingkillerChronicle

This isn’t a theory. This is very clear facts from the text, ok you guys? If Pat contradicts this it is obvious a Kote lie and non-canon.

I like Jalisco’s quite a bit, but I don’t know that it qualifies as authentic Mexican.

Sure looks like Haystack Rock to me, but can’t see the whole thing to be sure. So yeah, probably Canon Beach.

[–] Public hearing Tuesday on plan to restrict panhandling in Eugene Randvek -3 points ago in Eugene

I do feel like we have a lot of programs, but the obvious conclusion is that they aren’t working. Why will more programs be the solution?

[–] Public hearing Tuesday on plan to restrict panhandling in Eugene Randvek 8 points ago in Eugene

What are those programs, though? The city council sure doesn’t seem to know.

“Athletic freak outlier” describes Barkley perfectly. Dude played way bigger than he was.

how this isn’t a relevant fact?

I’m on mobile and I may have mixed up my threads. Apologies if I did and mischaracterized your argument.

Have you read Roe v. Wade? Do you agree or disagree with its underlying reasoning?

[–] 'We are not monsters': Parents go public about late-term abortions Randvek 1 points ago in politics

While that is a fact, what makes it a relevant fact? At the end of the day, you’re making a legal judgment call, not a science one.

[–] [Yahoo Sports NBA] "I'm not willing to sell myself out for (championships)" Damian Lillard on why he hasn't left Portland. Randvek 1 points ago in nba

Portland does not seem strong enough to challenge the Warriors in a 7-game series.

They aren’t, but not many teams are. GSW are the overwhelming favorite this season, again, and with good reason. But I’m not betting the house on Golden State in 2020 just yet. I think 2020 Western Conference will be a dog fight, particularly if AD ends up in Boston. I don’t like Portland any less than Houston or OKC in that scenario.

[–] 'We are not monsters': Parents go public about late-term abortions Randvek 1 points ago in politics

    logical fallacies.

I don’t think you actually understand what a logical fallacy is. The debate on abortion is ethical. The debate on the shape of the Earth is factual. We should always seek to have our ethics guided by science, but ensure that it is never decided by science.

The abortion debate revolves around what constitutes a “person” who “deserves rights.” Science doesn’t define either term. It can’t, and it’s foolish to suggest otherwise. It can tell us what a human is. But it can’t even tell us what “life” is (see also: viruses).

I’m not telling you your position is wrong. But I’m telling you it’s not completely science-based.

Brace yourself for the downvotes, but I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Bernie, I like your politics, but by Election Day, you’ll be over the average life expectancy in the US. I don’t think I can morally vote for anybody that old. I need some (generational) change I can believe in.

Honestly, Trump is too old, too. Add Warren to that list. Where are all the fresh ideas?
