Man pole vault poles get bent in half and still keep on truckin'

[–] The incompetence of the Jedi is the biggest reason for Anakin Skywalker’s fall. RearEchelon 1 points ago in StarWars

Precisely why they didn't normally take kids as old as he. Yoda knew it. He tried to tell 'em.

Moonlight Tales isn't a quest mod, it just gives Lycanthropes a much better skill tree and some QoL improvements for players who like to use Beast Form.

    I'm sorry, Dave; I'm afraid I can't do that.

    Yeah, what's the C-class? -5%?

    I swear the A, B, and C-class upgrades aren't even worth installing.

[–] This corner drawer that was actually designed properly RearEchelon 5 points ago in oddlysatisfying

Slow-close drawer slides (and cabinet door hinges). They're great, but so unsatisfying when you're angry.

[–] Am I culpable for drunk driving, if I drive within my own private property, and not on the actual roads? RearEchelon 2 points ago in answers

A driver can refuse a field test (and you absolutely should if you think you'll fail). They have to take you in at that point, and it could be a decent amount of time before you can be tested at the detention facility.

Portable breathalyzer readings at the scene aren't supposed to be used as evidence anyway because the margin for error on the portable devices is too high.

You really think his dangly bits survived the lava bath? Luke and Leia were it, as far as Anakin procreation is concerned.

[–] Is it possible for a single, random atom to split on its own, at any time? RearEchelon -1 points ago in askscience

Yes, I know, but is it not the goal of any munition—nuclear or conventional—to convert its matter to energy?

I just looked this up yesterday because I was talking with someone about antimatter annihilation.

The most efficient bomb ever designed, the US B-41, had a yield-to-mass ratio of 0.024%.

Less than one quarter of one tenth of one percent of its mass is converted to energy—and it's the most efficient.

These are cool because they're still the old layout like they somehow escaped the last reset

I sold 50 Fusion Ignitors this morning.

I'm just burning Units to fuel my ships at this point.

[–] This Rogue One Lego Diorama was seriously impressive RearEchelon 2 points ago in StarWars

I mean, the whole "hyperdrive's busted" trope in Star Wars is played out, but at the same time it would've been more acceptable than "we're running out of gas."

[–] This Rogue One Lego Diorama was seriously impressive RearEchelon 2 points ago in StarWars

In the Legends canon, hyperdrives "barely sipped fuel," while sublight drives "practically guzzle it."

And antimatter annihilation would create ridiculous amounts of energy in the real world, too. As far as I understand it, annihilation is total, 100% conversion of matter to energy.

For comparison, the B41 bomb developed by the United States has the distinction of being the "most efficient" bomb ever developed, but if this guy's math is correct, it only converted 0.024% of its mass to energy.

Less than one quarter of one tenth of one percent. An antimatter device of the same mass would be over 4000x as powerful.
