[–] How would you feel about a federal law requiring all citizens of age 18+ to volunteer for any environmental cause, where the number of hours logged can be used as a certain amount of payment for college? RoboNinjaPirate 2 points ago in AskReddit

The amount charged by the schools has gone up so dramatically that taxpayers could very well be supporting the schools to the same amount in real dollars, but campus amenities, needless administration staff growth and other crap has raised tuition.

As long as students can get loans to cover rising tuition there is no reason for colleges to restrain tuition growth. So we get increases several times higher than inflation

Sneaking across the border is illegal. Also, They can apply for asylum in the first safe country they get to.

Blatantly obvious to you may not be blatantly obvious to someone else. If you want to communicate something use words. Dont assume someone else gets your signals.

    Where should they go?

Don’t take your kids with you when committing crimes.

[–] Actual exchange from a recent job interview RoboNinjaPirate 2 points ago in DnD

That kind of stuff works. I had an interview and LinkedIn let me know my boss was a Boy Scout leader. I happened to drop the fact that I was a scout volunteer drop into the conversation and we talked for about 30 minutes about scouting. Yeah, I got the job :)

And I can guarantee if someone tried the same with DnD with me it would work.

Mandatory use of E-Verify (And improvements to that system) would be a good starting point.

[–] Dunkin' Is Reportedly Suing Franchisees Who Employ Undocumented Workers RoboNinjaPirate 46 points ago in Conservative

Make E-Verify (Or some improved system) Mandatory. Any Employer intentionally bypassing that system gets massive fines and prison time.

    Problem solved.

If they are already in Mexico, any coming from some other country have already reached a safe country - they should request asylum there.

If they want asylum within the US, the can come to the border at a designated crossing spot, else they violate the following:

    8 U.S. Code § 1325. Improper entry by alien

    (a) Improper time or place; avoidance of examination or inspection; misrepresentation and concealment of facts Any alien who (1) enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers, or (2) eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers, or (3) attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact, shall, for the first commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both, and, for a subsequent commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18, or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.

    (b) Improper time or place; civil penaltiesAny alien who is apprehended while entering (or attempting to enter) the United States at a time or place other than as designated by immigration officers shall be subject to a civil penalty of— (1) at least $50 and not more than $250 for each such entry (or attempted entry); or (2) twice the amount specified in paragraph (1) in the case of an alien who has been previously subject to a civil penalty under this subsection. Pro Illegal Immigration advocates think anything that doesn't cover 110% of the problem perfectly is pointless and shouldn't even be attempted!

I'd be all in favor of mandatory use of E-Verify, and any employer that intentionally bypasses that system faces massive fines and prison time.

As with any other people who break the law, their kids don't stay with them.

If I take my kids with me when I rob a bank, they aren't going to get to stay with me in my jail cell. Why should illegal aliens get more rights to see their kids than citizens do whenthey commit crimes?
