[–] BMW warranty Shumayal 2 points ago in CarsUAE

It is important to have a warranty. A BMW is an insanely expensive card to maintain in general. That's why they depreciate a lot. If you have the money to splurge, then go for it.

[–] GCC Spec Shumayal 1 points ago in CarsUAE

    Avoid it like the plague.

Yes, you can get a great deal but they are far too difficult to find. My friend got a Toyota Camry full options for very cheap. It has everything in tip-top condition except no airbags.

Most people make it a business and it is best stayed away. If you are really into it, then be prepared to invest a lot of time, effort and money to make sure it is worth it at the end.

[–] Toyota FJ cruiser Automatic to Manual swap Shumayal 1 points ago in dubaicars

This isn't the sub for the cars in UAE. I suggest posting on r/CarsUAE as it seems inactive here.

[–] XZ1 Compact screen repair in Canada ? Shumayal 2 points ago in SonyXperia

It's hard then, be prepared to pay expensive prices.

I got my C4 screen broken back when it was nearly 1 year old but it was so expensive to buy new that I just bought a new phone. The modern smartphone is built with planned obsolescence.

[–] Stopping 2 car lengths from the traffic lights?????? Shumayal 1 points ago in dubai

A meter is nowhere close to the distance of 2 car lengths which is at least 8-9 meters. The white line being visible does not cause this, unless you have something like a 1977 Cadillac Deville.

[–] What are the cheapest universities here in UAE? What is college life like here? Shumayal 2 points ago in dubai

The best answer here, the one that is truly representative. I wonder how it would feel to have my professor on Reddit :)

[–] Hostel room window in the morning.. It's humid.. again? Shumayal 1 points ago in dubai

The easiest thing for the BITSian hostelites to recognize here on this sub.

[–] A “Fine” communication between RTA and an affected resident Shumayal 4 points ago in dubai

I have always encountered the RTA guy whenever the machine is broken standing 1 or 2 meters near it. He told me to go to the next machine a couple of hundred meters away if I don't want to use m-Parking.

[–] The biggest issue with eGPU enclosure is... The Cost! Shumayal 1 points ago in eGPU

True. Unfortunately, I look at it this way. That money towards an eGPU can easily go towards a 1070 Laptop or even a 1080 perhaps as they become cheaper.

Nevertheless, I still regard CAD200 to be a pretty good and reasonable price.

[–] The biggest issue with eGPU enclosure is... The Cost! Shumayal 1 points ago in eGPU

Did you see the half price on the HP store or Amazon? This is amazing. Half price on this is pretty reasonable. I hope it works with my Acer Nitro VN7-592G TB3.

[–] The biggest issue with eGPU enclosure is... The Cost! Shumayal 2 points ago in eGPU

Sorry, I don't know about that one. Does it come with eGPU? Available on Amazon UK?

[–] What dish could I make my new UK friend to remind her of home? Shumayal 2 points ago in AskUK

I eat Ambrosia custard out of the tin lol
It's not a powder of course.

[–] How do UK Universities plan to attract International Students on Tier 4 while employers discriminate on the basis of Visa? Shumayal 1 points ago in AskUK

Well, you are right. Is there a visa category for unskilled workers then? I am confused which category they would fall under if not Tier 2 or Tier 5. And if they can naturalize by picking fruits?

Canada has a programme for Unskilled workers too but makes it impossible for them to naturalize and even harder to apply since the market is saturated by "dependents" of more skilled people and they tend to take up these jobs.

[–] Thank you first bus for cancelling every 51 and 52 bus Shumayal 1 points ago in Leeds

I gave up on that long time ago. I now figured out that walking for 35-40 mins is more feasible so that's what I do. I don't even wait for the bus near Sainsbury anymore. I glance, if it's not there, I continue walking.

[–] Planning to go camp in Liwa. What do I need to know before going there? Shumayal 2 points ago in dubai

You do see beautiful white plains that look like Salt Plains but I am not sure what it is. And also the Etihad Rail. Especially, since you normally don't encounter railway tracks or locomotives in the UAE every day.

[–] How do UK Universities plan to attract International Students on Tier 4 while employers discriminate on the basis of Visa? Shumayal 1 points ago in AskUK

I hope the UK adopts a points-based system like Canada and Australia. So the more talented/skilled/qualified you are, the easier it is to immigrate.
