How have you managed to not like, venture out for food though?

I'm staying with my parents and they do all the shopping. I did go through a drive through at Wendy's once.

I was thinking costume mask. I can count the number of times that I've left my house in the past five months on one hand. Face masks are definitely not a daily part of life for me so I didn't realize that's what was meant.

[–] Ah yes because adults can’t have a common interest Stereoparallax 1 points ago in nothingeverhappens

Oh, I understand now. I haven't been out of the house more than a couple of times in months since I work from home and family buys the groceries. Face masks haven't really sunk in as a normal part of life for me.

What exactly is a Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw mask? I mean, I read the books but in either case wouldn't the wizards of those houses probably have regular faces?

I'm a guy so maybe it's not the same but I'm six feet tall and my grandma is under five.

It's not even common in America.

Everyone I've ever known just shares the ultrasound photo with friends as soon as they can and eventually there will probably be a baby shower where they bring cute baby outfits over as gifts. The confetti and explosions are a very new development that has definitely not spread all across the country yet.

[–] Kid looks to be 6 or 7, he’s old enough to read and write, especially in 2020 Stereoparallax 3 points ago in nothingeverhappens

It's possible that while the kid knows how to read and write his dad still chooses his outfits and gets him dressed every day, not because he can't do it himself, but because it's just what the dad does.

They said in a blog post that ritual weapons will be reworked but aside from that it's uncertain how or when that will happen. If you want a certain gun it's best to get it this season.

I'm pretty sure that is a joke reply.

[–] Most useful advice in history. Stereoparallax 2 points ago in Steam

To be fair, a lot of people don't know about that and it does actually fix a lot of problems. It's essentially Steam's version of "turn it off and back on."

If you need help with a problem it's always useful to mention what basic steps you've tried so that people know not to tell you to do them.

Unfortunately not a lot of people are actually very good at troubleshooting and it shows in their forum posts.

Before I continue, let me say that I am not on either Apple Or Epic's side here. I just don't see that statement as a problem.

I think that it's a strange claim to say that Apple is not being fair here. The app is on the store that they created for a device that they created. I don't particularly like their store or their devices but I think that have the right to make the rules there.

Epic put Fortnite on iOS knowing and agreeing to the rules. They then broke those rules without even talking to Apple about it beforehand and are trying to make players feel angry at Apple for something that was Epic's decision. Apple has said that if they follow the rules again then they can have Fortnite back up immediately but Epic has refused.

The ONLY thing that Epic has going for them is the idea that 30% is too big of a cut, and honestly I kinda agree that the app store specifically isn't earning that. Still, Epic doesn't have the right to barge into someone else's store and demand that the rules get changed.

The only thing making Apple look bad was their decision to do the same thing that Epic did and take Unreal developers hostage in the same way that Epic did with Fortnite players.

If Epic looks bad here it's not because of bias, it's because they're making themselves look bad. If you present the facts and things look bad it's because they are bad.

There was not a significant enough number of omissions to claim otherwise.

RTX is the new generation of Nvidia cards that have ray-tracing hardware. I'm pretty sure that the ti version of a card is usually supposed to perform better.

I'm not an expert on this so if anyone wants to verify/elaborate that'd be cool.

To anyone who has played and enjoyed A Hat in Time, does your enjoyment of the game come from nostalgia or is it just good on its own?

My only experience playing console games comes from visiting friends so I don't really have much nostalgia for them. I grew up playing games like Age of Empires, Jedi Outcast, and No One Lives forever. I'm not saying that makes me better than anyone else but I just don't have the old happy memories to carry me through games that are reminiscent of Mario or Legend of Zelda or anything like that.

Is this game good all by itself?

The people who make these choices aren't even elected. They're hired by the state. They get their jobs after little more than a background check.

Even if it were a choice made by an elected official I don't exactly see a lot of candidates saying that they're going to fix school websites. That's not the first thing I'd be worried about anyway.
