Yup. That and the emote method, a.k.a. you activate a continuous emote (dancing, sit, etc) next to a tall enough object so that the 3rd person camera has no place and is pushed beyond your character’s model.

You can emote next to a big enough object, which pushes the camera to a first-person perspective, or you can hit the screenshot key/button while your character is swapping guns (aka you swap a gun, and you screenshot as soon as your weapon disappears from the screen).

I know. But I was on vacation for three weeks, which is the time it took for Whisper "grind" to be finished if you completed it every week.

Literally 2-3h after I got in the car and started the 2000 Kilometer drive, the Whisper mission was discovered. I'm not even exaggerating.

Thankfully, my cousin lent me his laptop and I was able to be carried through the mission on Week 2 and Week 3. But that laptop wasn't good enough to take 1080p screenshots at low settings, much less 4K maxed.

    Oh for fuck sake.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm such a moron.

EDIT: My very first Reddit Gold is this comment, smh... xD

[–] Why is the UI so slow? Storm_Worm5364 1 points ago in DestinyTheGame

    Slow hardware, mostly.

I was on vacation the last 3 weeks (literally arrived home today) and I played D2 on a shitty laptop (we're talking 20-30fps at 1366x768 resolution, with resolution scaling set to 65% and everything on low) just so I could grind the green Solstice of Heroes armor and the UI was pretty slow there too.

On my actual PC, I don't really have to wait for the inventory to load up.

[–] Black Ops 4 actually has some pretty good changes in it Storm_Worm5364 3 points ago in pcgaming

    It ran ok'ish. But ye...

Like I said: It’s ridiculous how good that engine really is, in the right hands.

[–] I know this is unpopular amongst parents but.. Storm_Worm5364 1 points ago in DestinyTheGame

I think the balance Uncharted strikes is perfect for the Destiny universe. It's not as "vulgar" as The Last of Us' language (which totally fits TLOU's atmosphere, don't get me wrong), nor is it as childish and cringy as Destiny 2's vanilla/Curse of Osiris language.

Uncharted mostly has a lot of "son of a bitch", "asshole", "shit", "crap", "holy shit", and so on.

[–] Black Ops 4 actually has some pretty good changes in it Storm_Worm5364 6 points ago in pcgaming

I mean, Battlefield and Battlefront ports are arguably the best ports in the whole world.

Never seen such good looking games run as smoothly as the ones Frostbite can put out. It’s ridiculous how good that engine really is, in the right hands.

[–] If strike exclusive loot is going to drop with random rolls, bungie NEEDS to make sure to adjust the drop rates ten-fold Storm_Worm5364 1 points ago in DestinyTheGame

Pretty sure they will. This shitty drop rates we have right now are a way to counter the fact that these weapons don’t have random rolls.

It’s also why it feels so unsatisfying. Because while grinding the Imago Loop you would get it like 2 out of 5 runs, instead of running it 50 times or more and then finally get the weapon.

Even if it was a shit roll, you knew the weapon was dropping, the rolls were the problem. You still felt rewarded because the weapon was still dropping every 2/5 runs.

[–] Monster Hunter World PC was delayed because it's the team's first PC game and wanted to get it right Storm_Worm5364 13 points ago in pcgaming

Volumetric Fog shouldn’t be that expensive to begin with.

Battlefield has bigger map chunks loaded at any given time (MH World has areas that serve as loading bridges between all the different areas of a map), 64 players, dynamic destruction, dynamic particles (down to the snow hitting player models, houses, planes, etc. instead of clipping), bullet travel-time and bullet-drop, AND VOLUMETRIC everything (Fog, Clouds, Particles, Smoke, and pretty much every other FX) and it can maintain 60fps in a rig that can’t in MH World.

Comparing MH World with arguably the most well-optimized franchise in the world since Battlefield 3 is unfair, but I think it’s still a valid comparison...

[–] Doom Eternal will have story DLC and traditional multiplayer developed in house this time around. Storm_Worm5364 1 points ago in pcgaming

Same here, but I don’t know what they could do to balance it. I wouldn’t want tankier enemies, since that doesn’t fit the inherent twitchiness of DOOM, but having basically double the more enemies on screen could affect performance negatively.

If they could find a way to have a lot more enemies on screen without affecting performance by much (let’s say 5 frames less), like Assassin’s Creed Unity had with their crowd tech, I would love to see co-op in DOOM.

[–] Of course Red Read 2 is coming to PC, Rockstar just wants you to buy the game 3 times. Storm_Worm5364 1 points ago in pcgaming

I think Rockstar knew they were gonna make their money back, but weren’t expecting Red Dead to sell more than a couple million copies (5 million copies, maybe more?).

I think RDR sold more than 15 million copies. It’s a pretty big number for a game restricted on two marketplaces (PS3 and X360) that’s also basically a new franchise (it’s technically a sequel to Red Dead Revolver but they are drastically different games).

We also know how ambitious Rockstar is with pretty much any of their games. I think they haven’t been restricted budget-wise for a long time.

My guess is that the publisher had faith in them, but wasn’t expecting it to be THAT successful?

[–] Bungie, Can Engrams Pop out of Bosses again like the good old days? Storm_Worm5364 1 points ago in DestinyTheGame

You could still have the chest for the armor, since Calus is te one giving you the loot.

But things like the Ghost Shell, or Acrius (just an example) could still be streamed loot that drops into your inventory as soon as you defeat Calus, or it could drop from him on defeat.

[–] Bungie, Can Engrams Pop out of Bosses again like the good old days? Storm_Worm5364 2 points ago in DestinyTheGame

Ye, and I preferred that system, in Raid bosses. I think Strikes bosses could have loot drops instead of loot streams. But having a loot stream upon finishing a raid encounter felt fucking awesome.

[–] Would you be happy if Bungie brought back D1 areas for us to explore in D2 possibly with new content? Why or why not? Storm_Worm5364 1 points ago in DestinyTheGame

I would honestly pay 60 bucks to have everything D1 had (including the DLC) ported over to D2 instead of getting D3.

With that being said, it would have to mean Destiny 3 would never become a thing, and Destiny 2 would instead be rebranded to “Destiny : Guardians” or “Destiny Universe” or something that would make sense for a continuously updated game.

They could even try to make it so Destiny 3 was still a thing that could be sold separately or as a DLC to Destiny, so that people that were new to Destiny could always buy Destiny 2 for a low price (40 bucks for a complete edition) and have both D3 and D2 + Expansions.

I just don’t want to leave D2 behind. Or D1. Or even D3.

[–] Bungie, Can Engrams Pop out of Bosses again like the good old days? Storm_Worm5364 20 points ago in DestinyTheGame

Because the chest spawns after the action is done.

Imagine killing Prestige Calus and out of him you see an Exotic engram, and you know damn well what that engram is gonna give you (aka let’s say the Legend of Acrius was a Prestige only boss drop).

Having a chest doesn’t feel as good because happens post-adrenaline (aka the adrenaline of killing the Raid boss).

[–] Doom Eternal will have story DLC and traditional multiplayer developed in house this time around. Storm_Worm5364 2 points ago in pcgaming

My argument never mentioned Quake, now did it?

Also, you saying “lots of people are interested in a DOOM multiplayer mode” doesn’t make it true.

I don’t know of a single person interested in DOOM MP in a DOOM SP game. Everyone I know would much rather have those resources be spent towards more levels, more post-release SP campaign, and/or more PvE focused content, as that’s what DOOM is best at, and the reason it sells in the first place.

[–] I can't help shake the feeling of Destiny 3's inevitable future release.. Storm_Worm5364 6 points ago in DestinyTheGame

It stated 4 releases throughout the next decade. But that’s obviously not happening. D2 was also supposed to have been released two years after the original one, but that obviously didn’t happen because development of a game like Destiny takes longer than that (still don’t know what Bungie was thinking signing this ridiculous contract).

Bungie then failed pretty every DLC up until TTK by releasing half-backed DLCs (they thought they could’ve done a lot more), and had to resort to coming up with Eververse to fill in the gaps of monetization left by them cancelling planned content, because they just couldn’t keep up with the contract they signed.

It would be nice if the revised contract gave Bungie the option to continue working on D2, but we already know D3 is in the works.

[–] Of course Red Read 2 is coming to PC, Rockstar just wants you to buy the game 3 times. Storm_Worm5364 62 points ago in pcgaming

Red Dead wasn’t even supposed to be that successful in the first place.

The team behind hadn’t made a PC game since Midnight Club II, which came out in 2003.

It wasn’t supposed to be ported at any point, and given how successful it was, porting it to the PC would’ve been extremely hard because the game was never made to support PC in the first place.

My guess is they wanted to, but the work required to port it over to the PC would’ve been tremendous, and better spent in a sequel that thought about the PC platform from the start.
