[–] Employees burnout? Try focusing on PLAYER burnout THEREALR4GE 2 points ago in apexlegends

I hate hearing this "We weren't expecting it" - a GOOD leader would've had a plan for the potential it does blow up, it's very obvious they didn't want to put more effort into the game in a shorter amount of time. If they continue along this path, they won't have to worry about 50 mil players, they won't even have to worry about the 'predicted' 10 mil, they will have far less than that if they don't take responsibility for the horrible leadership.

Yup, get used to the shit queue system that pairs new players with old - it's a horrible exp for both sides.

[–] Respawn CEO: Sticking to seasonal updates better for Apex Legends devs THEREALR4GE 1 points ago in apexlegends

Guy is a genius or a complete moron. Unfortunately, I don't think you can only push out content every 3 months in this day and age.

How can you be done arguing when you haven't brought a single valid point to the table? You've only said my opinion (which is shared by others) is dumb.

Why does a shooter need varying size hitboxes? Please elaborate on how this remotely makes sense - I'll stop you there, it doesn't. It's an aboslutly stupid idea.

Explain to me how a hitbox is inadvertantly created too big at release is then too small 6 weeks later, and now a month later is still broken? Yeah, if you can't fix a simple hitbox that drastically affects gameplay at 2 1/2 months in, really makes me wonder what they've been working on.

I'd welcome bug fixes over new content myself. When neither of them happens, things are compounded.

That's a very valid point if true. I do think if the extreme stance was taken on communication, it needs to be closer to the center going forward.

"We've been fire fighting, fixing things. We're gonna put the focus back on those quality of life issues and make sure everything is perfect before we really start to build more content." - Vince Zampella, Respawn CEO

I m actually okay with this - it will improve the game in the long-run. What I think most of us were not okay with was feeling like the same bugs weren't being addressed. I know it's been super frustrating to see the same issues apparent and that frustration grows exponentially when there is a lack of communication.

[–] Finally Some Insight To the Current State of Apex THEREALR4GE 5 points ago in apexlegends

Nothing you're saying invalidates a consumers desire for better communication - that's the point of the post. Your opinion on how the industry-set pace of content is irrelevant, and so is mine. If you desire as a company to break away from the established norm, nothing prohibits you from communicating that message to your consumers.

The current middle-ground is a short-lived solution and therefore doomed to fail. Successful businesses and games look to capture and keep long-term users. Everything they're doing is in direct conflict with a good model and it's already starting to show. Providing a better model will actually give them more cash in the long run. They didn't develop and release a free-to-play game hoping they'd magically make money off it, they did it because it's a successful model to earn more cash than you would if you put all content behind the initial purchase price. A better model to what we have now will keep more people playing the game and thus increasing the probability they'd spend cash over the long-run.

[–] The Most Unfulfilling Thing in Apex... THEREALR4GE 2 points ago in apexlegends

I find it ironic that the devs think by locking up the cosmetics behind giant paywalls and no way to earn them for free over time is a good business model, when in all actuality they'd probably make more money with more rewarding and fair systems.

I know people love to bring up the argument 'but it's a free game, bro!' - that shouldn't give devs an excuse to be lazy or greedy. It's no righteous act to make a free-to-play game these days because they know they can make more money over time with microtransactions then offering all the content behind the initial purchase price.
