They were owned by individuals during the time of the founding fathers and neither them nor congress had issue with personal ownership of said ships. Arms in the constitution refers to weapons of all kinds meaning if we interpreted how it was intended to be interpreted a private citizen could own a fully functional m1 abrams. Just to point out how stupid your argument about muskets being the most powerful weapons the 2nd amendment was meant to protect is.

4th amendment specifically says that a warrant can be issued by a judge and that such an order is a reasonable search, thus not in violation of the 4th amendment which protects from unreasonable searches and seizures. The comparison you are making doesn’t make sense mate.

Except you can’t defend yourself because red flag hearing are ex parte meaning you not only aren’t informed of the hearing you aren’t allowed to defend yourself from any claims. Comparing red flag laws to restraining orders in ridiculous.

A process where you aren’t notified off nor are you giving the ability to defend yourself from claims made against you. There is also no easy way to challenge a red flag order you have to sue in federal court to challenge the order which is literally impossible for the average person because it will cost you upwards of 20k to do so in lawyers fees. The person who gets red flag also is informed by mail and given no instruction on how to turn over their weapons which is a real problem because as of the moment they got the red flag possessing a gun is a felony so they can’t just go to the police turn over their guns without risking being arrested for trying to comply with the order. Not to mention the government charges you to store your guns that they unjustly ordered you can’t possess. Only an absolute fucking moron could argue in favor of these laws, because they are so obviously unjust, unconditional and ridiculously abusable plus they set a incredibly dangerous precedent by allowing you rights to taken from you with no regard to multiple amendments that doing so violates.

Red flag laws aren’t designed to prevent dangerous people from doing anything they are designed to allow the government to take away someone’s constitutional right without due process and force them to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars if they want to get them back.

Arms in the founders day meant cannons battleships and for the record there were repeating weapons around at the time the US even considered buying some during the revolution.

He isn’t speaking lies though. Red flags laws ignore due process and a blatant violation of our constitutional and fundamental rights.

[–] It should be legal to pay people to donate their organs. The_Real_Abhorash 1 points ago in unpopularopinion

Half of all Americans are. It’s just basically impossible to successfully harvest organs unless they died in a hospital.

[–] It should be legal to pay people to donate their organs. The_Real_Abhorash -2 points ago in unpopularopinion

This wouldn’t prevent you and others from giving their organs for free. It just should be legal for someone to offer money to someone for their organ.

It would be a crime to do so. So ideally if someone was trying to force another person to donate their organs they could report it to the police.

They understand what nazis are but they don’t really grasp the gravity of what they are mimicking to them it’s just an edgy joke nothing more.

[–] Paper straws are fucking DISTGUSTING regardless of your opinion on plastic straws. The_Real_Abhorash 10 points ago in unpopularopinion

Disabled people, people with teeth sensitivity issues, children generally need straws so they don’t spill, some alcoholic drinks need straws. That’s all I can think of off the top of my head but I’m sure there other examples.

[–] Ex-employer wants me to tell them the password I used to login to my work laptop The_Real_Abhorash 2 points ago in legaladvice

Sure they might have more money than op but that still doesn’t mean they can afford to waste money on lawsuits over a MS office key.

[–] Ex-employer wants me to tell them the password I used to login to my work laptop The_Real_Abhorash 3 points ago in legaladvice

Just provide them the password to the best of your recollection, since you were last employed by then over a month ago if that recollection is wrong no one could blame you.

No they couldn’t or well they could try to but it would just waste their money as that’s not an argument they could win with.

[–] The vast majority of rich people are there because they worked hard and smart to do so, not because they're evil and take advantage of others. The_Real_Abhorash 1 points ago in unpopularopinion

Yeah and that sucks for you it really does but that doesn’t give you any entitlement to the other persons money regardless of connections they earned that money through their own actions and effort.

Jeff Bezos isn’t a million times better than those people sure but unlike those people he worked incredibly hard on his business and was smart enough and lucky enough to not only succeed but become the biggest online retailer among other things. He earned his money and neither he nor any other billionaire owe you shit.

You don’t realize how easy it is to spend money when you are rich. Most people who suddenly gain massive wealth and don’t know how to properly budget will spend themselves into poverty.

[–] Paper straws are fucking DISTGUSTING regardless of your opinion on plastic straws. The_Real_Abhorash 10 points ago in unpopularopinion

No because some people don’t have that option and for the rest of us straws are not only easy to use but more sanitary.
