Trump supporters are using made up phrases like "tyranny of the majority" (a thing called democracy) to justify the fact that the American people picked Hillary.

Sounds like they're the only ones making conspiracy theories.

It's not "just a photo id". "Voter ID" laws in general are often often used by Republicans to disenfranchise the poor and minorities, who are more likely to vote Democrat. DMVs in poor areas often serve more than 50,000 residents, and poor people don't have time to take off work to stand in line to jump through hopes to be able to vote when they already have state ID and a SSN and are registered voters. They're designed to be as restrictive as possible to keep the least amount of people voting.

It has nothing to do with illegals voting. That's already against the law and strongly enforced. Reference.com isn't a good place to get references mate.

The Reference.com page references Alexander Hamilton in the Federalist papers, which is the best authority there is on it as he created it.

You're also Tinfoil hat crazy, so I'm disregarding almost everything you are saying.

Translation: "I got thoroughly dismantled and have no retort, so I'm going to insult you and walk away"

I've been working as a C++ dev for over 10 years, never needed to:

That doesn't mean anything, and definitely doesn't imply that CS fundamentals aren't important. You could be mediocre as hell, or working at a company that doesn't care about code quality. There's a lot of variations in individual situations.

I wouldn't. CS is as popular as psychology a lot of schools now. It's one of the trendy things that basically everyone majors in.

"Tyranny of the majority" refers to

Orwellian Trump supporter code for democracy. "Tyranny of the majority" is democracy and how free societies function.

Tyranny of the minority of how North Korea and other unfree countries function. If you prefer tyranny of the minority you should move there.

This would lead to an unstable and dangerous "mob rule"

The votes of some people being worth less than the votes of other people (an effect of the EC that did not exist in the 1700s, but exists now) is leading to unstable and dangerous "minority rule" where the winner of elections is not actually winning the election. It's inherently undemocratic.

The electoral college system's beneficiaries have long since flipped, but it is just as important as ever.

It had no beneficiaries when it was drafted. And it was intended to stop people like Trump. Not help them solidify their lead. So one can make the argument that it's lost it's importance.

If you passed high school U.S history

If you passed elementary school U.S history, you would understand that the things you're suggesting are authoritarian and undemocratic in nature.

Nobody wants to "import" anyone. That's a conservative strawman.

.... then clamor to let in people who are objectively way worse by their own standards.

The conservatives of the west are not any better than the conservatives of the middle east. Both groups have the same backwards views toward women and science.

    Sorry mate that's just wrong

    No it's not.

that was an argument FOR the electoral college

Wrong. The electoral college was never intended to subvert the will of the people. Alexander Hamilton himself discussed these ideas in The Federalist papers.

    a republic, not a democracy.

Wrong. We're a democratic republic. Democracy and republic are not mutually exclusive.

The popular vote has and always been the most important marker of a healthy democracy.

    tyranny of the majority

Is that the new Orwellian Trump supporter code for democracy? "Tyranny of the majority" is democracy and how free societies function.

Tyranny of the minority of how North Korea and other unfree countries function.

and hence they set up the electoral college with the explicit purpose to subvert the will of the people

Wrong. It was like a fail-safe basically, like if a member of the British royal family had kids here and decided to have one of them run for election with the intention of subverting democracy. It was never intended to subvert the will of the people. The EC was a tool to protect democracy. Not hurt it.

[–] When it's almost been eight months and you still don't understand the constitution TrumpHasASmallPenis 1 points ago in CringeAnarchy

There's not a good reason. There has only been 4 times in history where the president who "won" the election lost the popular vote, and it was a disaster every single time.

    What the fuck

You're experiencing the fascism of the average right-winger. They're pretty open about it now.

"I dont care that more people voted for Hillary, because I disagree with them"

[–] When it's almost been eight months and you still don't understand the constitution TrumpHasASmallPenis 1 points ago in CringeAnarchy

I don't want Americans to decide the American election

You're really using a lot of mental gymnastics to justify your authoritarian mindset.

Cali already has a massive chunk of the electoral votes. They have massive representation already.

This actually incorrect. California is currently underrepresented in proportion to the share of the population there.

[–] When it's almost been eight months and you still don't understand the constitution TrumpHasASmallPenis 1 points ago in CringeAnarchy

    it doesn't mean anything.

Sure, it means plenty if you actually care about democracy and America getting the candidate it picks.

[–] When it's almost been eight months and you still don't understand the constitution TrumpHasASmallPenis 1 points ago in CringeAnarchy

Except up to 5.7 million illegal immigrants voted.

No, 5.7 million illegal immigrants did not vote. That's debunked nonsense only said by reactionaries and alt-righters who are still in denial that their policies are not popular in America.

[–] When it's almost been eight months and you still don't understand the constitution TrumpHasASmallPenis 1 points ago in CringeAnarchy

    California

California should be allowed to have a voice. As it stands now their votes are being undervalued relative to their population which is not democratic.

    and illegal aliens

No, illegals did not vote. That's debunked nonsense only said by reactionaries and alt-righters who are still in denial that their policies are not popular in America. The American people picked Hillary which is why she got more votes than her opponent. Period.

You can defend your unpopular illegitimate president all you want (he's currently at a 36% approval rating), but that's the reality of it.

which is the exact reason the EC is in place

Wrong. The actual purpose of the electoral college was so that the electors would be a group of people who would ensure that a qualified person would become president. It was actually designed to protect against people like Donald Trump. Alexander Hamilton himself discussed these ideas in The Federalist papers.

There has only been 4 times in history where the president who "won" the election lost the popular vote, and it was a disaster every single time.

[–] When it's almost been eight months and you still don't understand the constitution TrumpHasASmallPenis 1 points ago in CringeAnarchy

    Except American didn't want Hillary

Who is American? If you mean America, then yes we did.

Hillary got the votes of more Americans than Trump did. Period.
