We’re just human after all. I’m really sorry for asking a very personal question, I probably shouldn’t have. Stay strong.

I know this is probably going to sound rude, forgive me in advance. But why did you have kids if your whole adult life you have felt this way?

I kind of think you’re rejecting Heaven and Hell and then just kind of ignoring the hole they leave. You’ll end up living life more or less the same way as if Heaven and Hell existed, but without a clear reason of why you chose to live that way.

They give purpose though. I find that without these concepts we’re kind of lost. Why live? Why try and be good?

Maybe the void was inside us all along.

    Maybe there is no void.

But why do I have to do stuff in order to possibly please my future self when it actually makes my current self’s life harder? Why is future me more important than now me?

Is a life spent “doing good” better than a life spent accumulating karma on Reddit? We’re going to die regardless. What happens to the world after we die might not be that important...

    life is enjoyable

This is what I’m arguing. It is more difficult for some people to enjoy life than it is to commit suicide. The difference between 10 and 100 is indeed infinitesimal, so why not end it right now?

You keep reiterating this thing that you should, you ought to try and do something with your life, but I feel you can’t really provide an explanation as to why you should.

Do you understand what I mean?

So we’re back to the start guys. It’s still live your life the best you can.

I’m sure it’s easier to get Nadal to train in tennis than it is to get him to learn molecular biology (and I assume Nadal is anything but lazy). I’m sure raw intelligence exists, but preferences and interests do too.
