But we keep having children. So se must like it after all if we subject non consenting people to it.

I mean at what cost should we pursue pleasure? What if it entails pain? Is it still worth it?

Yes I agree with you. But what is this identity then? If copying the exact disposition of matter creates a new identity, why does moving the same matter preserve it?

EDIT: As I see it all copies would effectively be you. From their point of view it's still you, no?

I get it. We're no superman.

They buy their own "reusable" plastic bags though (and I think a lot buy ones made of fabric). That's still miles better than disposable plastic bags.

And that is because disposable plastic bags are banned from being sold. And people don't need them that badly that an underground market arises. They just comply.

Regulation works as well, and usually much faster. Most people don't really care about most issues, they'll just go with whatever interferes the less in their life (like me). I really don't care what kind of package my food comes in.

The end goal of every grassroots movement would, in theory, be regulation. You have a small (relative to the whole population) group of people that deeply cares about an issue and devotes a big chunk of their life to change things at the top!

Expecting to morally convert everyone is kind of freaky to me.

Thank you, that's what I was trying to say. (I'm kind of a piece of shit though, they're not entirely wrong)

If it's so important, why don't we regulate it? Like aren't laws there for this reason? It's obviously cost effective if companies still overpackage this much. And honestly, I'm sorry but even if I agree with the sentiment, I will never go out of my way to "vote with my wallet".

Actually the whole tortured conflict is just a ploy to distract yourself and everyone else from the the fact that you are very ambitious and have lots of motivation, but you're just afraid of outing yourself as the average person you are. You won't fail, rest assured, you'll just do pretty good. And that's death to you.
