[–] OP literally assumed their gender WheatelyCore 58 points ago in facepalm

Not to mention straight trans people exist

[–] Generosity WheatelyCore 13 points ago in shortscarystories

Maybe so, but I don't think it's scary so much as it is sad. Real world horror is real, but this didn't make me afraid. Just depressed.

[–] DeviantArt at its finest... WheatelyCore 9 points ago in yiffinhell

It's not really aging them up when he makes no attempt to make them look older, it's just a cop out excuse

[–] Incel has a baseless theory that his sister is a cam girl, disgusting comments ensue WheatelyCore 4 points ago in IncelTears

That's not what I'm looking at, this source is specifically about the effects of early exposure, but there's definitely pornsick adults too. That's an entirely different discussion and set of stats, though.

[–] Incel has a baseless theory that his sister is a cam girl, disgusting comments ensue WheatelyCore 5 points ago in IncelTears

I'm literally not saying ban porn but the influx of incest and otherwise taboo porn being produced along with how accessible this content is is an issue

[–] Incel has a baseless theory that his sister is a cam girl, disgusting comments ensue WheatelyCore 9 points ago in IncelTears

Young exposure to porn has been statistically proven to poorly affect children and raise rates of child on child sexual abuse, that's why he's being downvoted.

[–] Honestly can't tell if this is satire WheatelyCore 8 points ago in gatekeeping

Also Spanish is becoming very common in the U.S....learning a language as an adult isn't easy and honestly I appreciate non-Spanish speakers for trying

Yeah ... I think the commenter has a point. It's kinda obvious the employee was in the wrong.

[–] i found one in the wild WheatelyCore 3 points ago in FuckYouKaren

Okay, but the condoms weren't the thing making the person uncomfortable. The employee was, or I'm guessing so because the post says "made uncomfortable by that man". What did the employee do?

[–] i found one in the wild WheatelyCore 3 points ago in FuckYouKaren

Uh. This one sounds rational if the context is what I'm thinking

    [–] egg_irl WheatelyCore 0 points ago in egg_irl

I'm not out here to write essays, but I think the growing rate of detransitioners, some who absolutely did go through with HRT that permanently changed them and some that did go through surgery speaks for itself.

The truth isn't harmful. Not elaborating on it, lying to people, and framing things the wrong way is harmful. Dysphoria IS required to be trans, but everyone experiences it differently and some more or less than others. THAT is what we should be discussing, not "you don't need dysphoria! You can do whatever you want!" because it leads to shitty situations for a lot of people, including dysphoric transpeople who get degraded and harassed for speaking about this issue.

Actual transpeople are pure scum for wanting those questioning to know what it means to be trans, I guess. By the by, I have absolutely no issue with nonbinary people, first and foremost and secondly I don't think you paid any attention to what I said whatsoever. I have absolutely no issue with different ways of expressing gender either. No idea where you got that from. I think you're projecting a bit.

That being said, you should have all the actual facts when you're questioning your identity, the same way gay people need to consider compulsory heterosexuality when coming to terms with their identity.

We gatekeep because trans communities are for trans safety, resources, and to find people we relate to. There is no "wanting to be trans". Transness is not a choice and to frame it as such confirms the beliefs of Republicans, TERFs, and other transphobes everywhere. Trans is not a decision any of us made. It's not fair that we, as a group of oppressed people, have to be framed like this and made to look bad just because other people "want" to be trans for whatever reason.

Dysphoria is the literal only requirement for being trans. There's feminine transmen and masculine transwomen and that's all fine. You can't encourage non-dysphoric people to dive into transitioning because guess what? Going on HRT and getting surgeries done will help an actual transperson and make a cis person dysphoric.

Maybe thinking that the very basis of being trans "sucks" is something you should consider. Downvote me to Hell and back, but I stick by the necessity of dysphoria, even if that dysphoria is as small as the mere disagreement between brain and body, in transness. It's our only requirement.

[–] What is your childhood memory that you thought was normal but realized it was traumatic later in your life? WheatelyCore 5 points ago in AskReddit

My step dad's the same way too, but the sexual details were always all the ones about my mom "cheating on him" ( she didn't, she'd been trying to leave him for years and he just wouldn't accept it ). It was fucking disgusting and I finally lost it on him for giving explicit details to my little sister.

[–] My (24f) girlfriend really wants kids. I (28m) have no paternal instinct. WheatelyCore 2 points ago in relationships

I'm late so this is definitely gonna get buried, but a lot of people are recommending /r/childfree to you and honestly, I think that's a bad idea. I understand wanting a community of like minded people, I was there for a bit too, but ( and this is my personal experience! Maybe it's gotten better since I left ), the amount of genuine vitriol a lot of the subreddit's users have towards children and parents is a bit unhealthy.

Hermaphrodite is not an appropriate term and most intersex people will agree with that. Also finding someone attractive and fetishizing them are not the same thing. Fetishizing someone, or a group of people, is dehumanizing and absolutely contributes to the high rate of rape and sexual assault transwomen face.

But I think you've already proven yourself to completely lack empathy for others and you don't care about what an actual transperson has to say, so I'm gonna end this here.

[–] Of all things, why the fucking google chrome dinosaur? WheatelyCore 1 points ago in yiffinhell

    Casually and uncaringly uses slurs.

Completely ignores a trans person correcting them.

Dismisses concerns of fetishization brought up by a transperson

"You're just a delusional tranny, I didn't say anything complacent with transphobic beliefs."

[–] Of all things, why the fucking google chrome dinosaur? WheatelyCore 1 points ago in yiffinhell

Oooh, okay so you're just someone complacent in transphobia. I get it now.

[–] Of all things, why the fucking google chrome dinosaur? WheatelyCore 4 points ago in yiffinhell

Okay so 1. "Trannies" is not an appropriate way to refer to transpeople.

    1. "Hermaphrodite" is an outdated and incorrect term. Intersex people is the proper term, and most intersex people do not have both sets of genitals.

    2. Real life transwomen get called "futas" and fetishized.

I hate so much about this argument in defense of violating young girls, but I never understand how they insist we're "religious nutjobs" for being against it. A lot of religions are completely on board with sexualizing teenage girls, obsessing over their virginity, marrying them off young, etc. Lmao
