[–] Closing an option position before expiration Wheream_I 1 points ago in RobinHood

In a situation where you’re trading a stock without a lot of activity and you have a call that is now money positive, couldn’t you theoretically just sell an OTM put with the same expiration and then also collect the premium of that put? And then immediately execute the put and use your call option to fulfill the put?

Never mind, you’d have to execute your call and hold for the put which you could have done the entire time.

[–] What % of you’re sales force is at target? Wheream_I 3 points ago * (lasted edited a day ago) in sales

    About 20%.

It’s a “our CEO took over CMO duties when the CMO quit, and now our CMO is taking the word from marketing as gospel and won’t listen to us when we tell them that no, really, the marketing qualified leads are bullshit and practically worthless” problem.

As if marketing throwing sales under the bus isn’t already enough of a constant problem in sales, we now have marketing literally having the ear of our CEO, President, and founder. Plus he’s an engineer in experience since he built this company so he doesn’t even know sales or marketing.

    It is so, soooooo bad.

Here’s an example of the shit they pull. We had a field event with about 50-60 CIOs and Directors. We weren’t hosting it, but we attended and spoke with SOME these people. In a field event like this, what do you think your requested contact rate should be? 15%? 20%? Of attendants? Yeah that’d make sense and be logical. But NOPE! Marketing put 100% of the leads (not even a joke, literally 100%) of attendees as Hot-Requested Contact. I literally can’t even filter through the chaff to find the gold. So then marketing gets to go to the CEO and say “look at how many amazing leads we’re sending sales and they can’t close! This isn’t our fault!” Because our CEO just pulls a report and takes the shit statuses marketing is inputting leads as at face value and thinks “wow all of these amazing leads and they can’t close shit.”

Makes me want to ducking KMS.

[–] Del Taco announces meat-free Beyond Tacos coming to all its restaurants Wheream_I 5 points ago in news

Taco Bell steak is just a bunch of low quality cuts cooked sous vide at an industrial scale, given a light char and then frozen, then sent out to stores.

That is why the meat is both so evenly cooked, and also gooey. The sous vide process broke down too much of the protein bonds and made the meat too soft. At an industrial scale they’re working with varying thicknesses of cuts, which means they have to sous vide the cuts long enough to make sure they ALL cook through evenly. That’s like a 3 hour sous vide, which makes for super soft (and gooey) meat.

Weed? Totally okay in California. I mean hey it may cause latent schizophrenia to rear it’s ugly head in users but what’s the problem?

E cigs? Nope, can’t be having that.

Left California for a reason. So incredibly contradictory in their legislation sometimes.

Maintenance renewals for a tech distributor.

Took the job knowing the pay was shit but was a good foot in the door for actually working at a tech company. I could say “I worked in tech, I have experience!” While being partially true.

One day, I'm gonna wake up and I'm gonna be 50. And I'll still be doing this shit.

Every day I come by your house and I log you in. And we post. We post comments, and a few laughs, and it's great. But you know what the best part of my day is? For about ten seconds, from when I pull up to the curb and when I get to your door, 'cause I think, maybe I'll get up there and I'll knock on the door and you won't be there. No goodbye. No see you later. No nothing. You just left Reddit. I don't know much, but I know that.

Were you gonna plagiarize the whole thing for us- you have any thoughts of your own on this matter? Or do- is that your thing, you come into a sub, you read some obscure passage and then you pretend- you pawn it off as your own- your own idea just to impress some redditors? Embarrass my OP?

    Quota size means fuck all.

And then finish 20 and 12, out of the points, below such powerhouses such as Haas (6), Alfa (8), and racing point (9).

Williams, one of the most storied racing teams since the founding of F1. Can’t seem to do shit.

[–] Google Trends for "Formula 1" in the USA is at a 5 year high! Wheream_I -7 points ago in formula1

    Haas all day.

A great car marred by stupid accidents and poor drivers. The Haas car could be the top of the mid tier if it wasn’t for the stupid pit shit and drivers that seemingly enjoy a nice demolition derby.

The Haas car has such amazing pace for a 3 year old entrance it’s amazing. But instead of having Ver or Ric they have fucking Groj and the blonde fick

Bro. How could you turn on Haas like that?

It’s the first American team in a while and the car is honestly good enough to finish 8-6 every single week. As long as no stupid wheel shit happens.

Yeah but it’s like, they’re progressively regressive. Progressivism was originally all about the expansion of people’s rights. But now it’s become constrictive of people’s rights..

As a Californian I just don’t get it. It feels like the politicians think they know what is best for people and will instill restrictive policies to make them comply.

[–] Google officially announces streaming gaming platform called Stadia Wheream_I 1 points ago * (lasted edited 2 days ago) in gamernews

I’m just wary of current smart TVs being able to do it, because I bet Google has thought this through and has some sort of minimal latency compression they’ve developed. Which would, In my estimation, not play kindly with the kind of decompression hardware currently found in TVs.

But who knows🤷🏼‍♂️ I’m likely just taking leaps here. Google has likely also thought of how their compression solution to minimize latency will play with legacy smart tv hardware.

And I know what you’re saying about latency with streaming and stuff. I get that. Google is essentially just rolling out a bunch of VMs in the Google Cloud. They need a total input to response latency for even casual gaming of 5-8ms or less. That is source side input, to their cloud, response and output to the screen, with decompression, all within 5-8ms at the max. That is a huge, huge feat to tackle if you ask me. I would love the opportunity to actually look into the technicals of this.

Granted, I’m just a sales rep at a cloud tech company. But I’m working to become a sales engineer at my company, so this is the kind of shit I have to question and begin to understand.
