I swear these loss.jpg edits are becoming more and more abstract each year.

I didn't know my lean body mass so I just aimed for 1g/lb of body mass to make sure (can't have more than 100% body mass lol). I also figured protein is more satiating than carbs?

As far as fish oil goes, I've seen some reports recently that fish oil brands usually over-report their contents. I'm actually aiming for 1000-1200 as you mentioned, but figured that to actually get that amount I should take a bit more.

I'll switch my frozen veggies to weight. Thanks for noticing that.

As far as seasoning goes do you have any suggestions? So far I've found stuff like "Poultry Seasoning" that tastes okay, but nothing special. I love the chicken at Chipotle but it seems like you have to do some advanced cooking wizardry to make it taste that good.

I have a huge tub of whey with me, but I only use it when I want to bulk. It's just not satiating enough for me since it's a liquid I guess.

I agree, but honestly I'll probably eat exactly this plan for a week or so at most. It's just to establish the general meal times and macros more than anything else.

My idea is that if I get comfortable eating with some sense of routine I will eventually get bored and try to spice things up eventually anyway.

[–] Cutting Progress. 19 male, good results. abunchofchesspieces 6 points ago in Fitness

One tip that makes long cuts tolerable for me is this: I don't count low cal vegetables like green leaves, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots tomatoes etc. If you intend to eat X calories a day, you can eat X - 50 or even 100 instead and give yourself free reign to stuff yourself with veggies whenever you have the urge. It's really difficult to overeat veggies.

Just helps manage hunger until your next real meal.

Creating a caloric deficit by eating less was easier for me than trying to cardio off the calories. Don't get me wrong, both kind of suck (and it should suck), but not doing something sucked less than having to do something.

Imagine how easy it is to eat 200 calories. It's like half a donut! Then remember the effort you spent the last time you ran to burn 200 calories.

Congrats! Some people might get the wrong idea from your title, however. Please do not abstain from exercising while losing weight and wait until you're "done" with the weight loss, people. Especially weight lifting while on a caloric deficit will ensure that you are not only lighter in general, but that you are losing fat instead of all that lean mass :)

It's hard to say without doing actual tests and such (hell, maybe the scale is broken!), but I'd say what you see in the mirror trumps the numbers on a scale.

Half the battle of being fit is in the head. You have to ignore some things like this to keep going. I went from 205 lbs to 165 lbs in a year but it felt like the number on the scale only went down when I didn't really care whether it dropped or not.

I realized that the part that "works" in a pre workout was the caffeine anyway. So I just switched back to coffee.

Hmm. I may be eating too much protein and fat actually. My diet usually mainly consists of eggs, peanut butter, cottage cheese and chicken. I'll try adding more carbs.

I am doing 3x5 and 2x8. I guess it's kind of hard to figure out my TDEE because I sit on my butt most of the day but then have brief periods of exercising.

[–] Moronic Monday - Your weekly stupid questions thread abunchofchesspieces 1 points ago in Fitness

I'm 5'8", 175 lbs. I do ICF 3 times a week (just got to squatting two plates), and maybe walk around about 45-60 minutes a day. The rest is just sitting.

I'm having trouble sticking to my 1900 calorie diet long term. It's relatively easy the first 3-4 days, but I get hungrier each day until eventually I find myself having eaten all my allotted calories by lunch and blow my diet with a 3000 calorie day. I am still losing weight but it's much slower than intended because of this.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. Am I eating too little? Is it normal for the hunger to "accumulate" over the course of a week? Is this why some fad diets have cheat days?

Or, what are some good ways to deal with this so that it doesn't happen again?

My main difficulty is lifting heavy while on a caloric deficit. I can stick to working out easily when I eat whatever I want, and I can eat at a decent deficit when I'm not working out regularly, but it's really difficult to do both and lead a comfortable life for me.

I want to weigh about 15 pounds lighter, and be at an intermediate strength level when I am there.

This week I somehow pulled my shit together and managed to both eat right and work out hard. If I keep this up for a few months I can reach my goal.

[–] Had some ups and downs, not sure how to proceed abunchofchesspieces 1 points ago in Fitness

Cutting first is a good idea, but according to a recent DEXA scan I have about 40 lbs of fat in total, I don't see how I can lose about 40 - 50 lbs of fat. If I lose about 20 lbs fat from my current state (assuming no loss of muscle mass) I can hit 10% body fat.

You may be right. I'm starting to think I've developed some psychological barriers due to spinning my wheels for so long. It's almost like I'm afraid to cut because I've cut for so long and so many different times.

Unfortunately the problem is that it's been fixable in 3 months for a few years now... I'm admitting I have no idea what I'm doing here and deferring to the /r/Fitness gods. How would you fix it?
