Cake say just means, effectively, your "Reddit birthday". Nothing else. So it's appropriate anywhere, people just like to get annoyed

Yeah that makes sense, I guess he'd definitely appear rather sinister if you didn't have his background already

[–] [Episode 6 Spoiler] This was a particularly sad scene akshay7394 2 points ago in DCDoomPatrol

Ohhh, that's fair. I'd rather they not do it because it's an old trope in general, but I just meant - haven't they already shown him being pseudo-evil in Titans already? Wouldn't that hint that that's the direction they're going?

[–] [Episode 6 Spoiler] This was a particularly sad scene akshay7394 2 points ago in DCDoomPatrol

Oh.. I didn't understand most of what you were talking about but I think it's because you're referencing the comics, but I means the Doom Patrol's appearance on the Titans TV show haha! My bad, wasn't clear

I haven't read any of the DP runs at all so I've no context to what you mentioned sorry!

[–] [Episode 6 Spoiler] This was a particularly sad scene akshay7394 5 points ago in DCDoomPatrol

Well it's played out, but didn't they already make Niles seem pretty evil by the time the Titans rolled around after meeting Gar?

I'm curious though, other than power and the SD card, what are your other costs that push a Pi Zero to $40 ?
Because if you get the Pi Zero W, there's no need for an ethernet or wifi adapter (unless you insist on it, ofc), and microUSB power is something I'd assumed was cheap enough to write off. Also that most people usually have a few lying around from other hardware, no?

[–] The Real Answer akshay7394 1 points ago in pihole

Maybe you could look at NanoPI (mentioned by /u/apathycoalition here)

Keep your most recent backup in Folder A and move to Folder B just a little while before it's time for a new backup

That way you always have 2 backups at all times and are only at risk of overwriting 1 of them with bad data (this is, of course, assuming you would notice the difference inbetween the good backup completing and the system corruption happening)

[–] [Question] Can OpenCV help me count the number of specific-colored dots on an image ? akshay7394 1 points ago in opencv

And assuming these dots are not too close to each other (visually separable), I should be Able to get an (at least somewhat) accurate count of these colored dots?

[–] Anyone linked Google Home with Plex...? akshay7394 1 points ago * (lasted edited 2 months ago) in PleX

Hey! Hijacking this thread since I'm having trouble finding people who are still using Phlex - I just followed the instructions on GitHub, but it doesn't seem to open Phlex even afterwards. It shows me a blank white screen with php data on 192.x.x.xx:80/Phlex. Navigating to just 192.x.x.xx:80 takes me to the default Apache webserver first-run test page .

Would you happen to know how I could get it working on a raspberry pi?

Edit: I also tried renaming index.php to index.html to see if that worked, got a half-working page but no more

[–] Need help with ensuring correct permissions on Raspberry Pi 3B+ akshay7394 1 points ago in sonarr

How do I do this? This is what I wanted to but didn't know how to account for dynamic filenames.

[–] Need help with ensuring correct permissions on Raspberry Pi 3B+ akshay7394 1 points ago in sonarr

Both Sonarr and deluge are actually in the same group, 'media'. However, they're both also in a separate group, "dietpi", which was a system-created group from the DietPi OS I'm using. So technically they're in the same user group, but when deluge moves the files / folders into my TV folder, the files/folders it moved are with the permissions pertaining to the group "dietpi", whereas the entire folder is owned by the 'media' group (which deluge is a part of). Despite being in the same group, sonarr has trouble seeing deluge's files.

As a temporary fix, I've resorted to a script that changes the permissions recursively of the entire directory whenever anything is added to the TV directory

Oh, shit, I feel dumb for not thinking about just doing this on a recurring basis lol. I'll go that route at least until I find a cleaner solution.

    THank you!

Although, shouldn't there be a way where any file added to a given folder can be set automatically to the same permissions as the other folders in the directory? For eg. I've got them in the same user group ('media'), but deluge is part of more than 1 group and uses the other group aliases to set permissions rather than using the group that the folder belongs to. Which seems strange to me >
