[–] Huntsville Ranked 4th out of 200 on America's Best Drivers Report amwpurdue 7 points ago in HuntsvilleAlabama

VERY. I was quite happy with driving around here when I first moved. Not that it's great, but it's loads better to deal with drivers here than where I was.

[–] FBI announces 1,350 jobs moving to Huntsville amwpurdue 23 points ago in HuntsvilleAlabama

You guys are fighting about 2 different stats. Huntsville city most definitely will top Birmingham soon (~5 years). But Huntsville's metropolitan population will not top Birmingham's in the foreseeable future.

[–] Writing a blog about Huntsville. Need suggestions. amwpurdue 2 points ago in HuntsvilleAlabama

Huntsville just hosted a large Educational Content Creator Convention,, organized by /u/MrPennywhistle

[–] The Rocket City Trash Panda Emporium opened today amwpurdue 9 points ago in HuntsvilleAlabama

"We actually went to the City of Madison and asked where the best place to put it will be. And they told us Bridge Street is where there will be a lot of traffic around Christmas time. So we went ahead and signed a lease there," he reasoned. "Our goal is to reach as many people as possible."

The low cloud cover helps amplify them.

[–] Two more locating at Stovehouse: Pourhouse and Mazzara's Italian Kitchen amwpurdue 2 points ago in HuntsvilleAlabama

I think Terranova's could be great. They need a face-lift or some sort of restaurant designer to take over. Food was great, but the atmosphere/menus/location just don't feel like you're going to a nice Italian place.

(I think Schnitzel Ranch is in the same category, even with their new location, it could use a spruce up)

Did anyone else notice a lack of turnout of trick-or-treaters? We bought extra candy this year, but seemed like there was less than last year. Figured it would be crazy with the nice weather.

[–] Stovehouse development is getting ramen and crepe restaurants amwpurdue 24 points ago in HuntsvilleAlabama

That's awesome! Maybe this'll put an end to the "Where to get Ramen" questions! Excited to hear what else is coming.

[–] New push to widen I-565 between Madison, Decatur amwpurdue 3 points ago in HuntsvilleAlabama

Yeah, though i'd personally wait 5 years or so to see if this hyperloop idea works out. Would much rather invest in that, especially with our techy status. Though it could just be a pipe dream of mine.

[–] What makes Alabama unique and beautiful? amwpurdue 7 points ago in Alabama

True we have bad crime figures (rated 42nd by US News), but actually 5th lowest in terms of homelessness rate by state (

[–] This angers me amwpurdue 496 points ago in gaming

It was a misprint, they meant 68 days.

[–] Pier 88 Boiling Seafood coming soon amwpurdue 3 points ago in HuntsvilleAlabama

Really pulling for Retaggio. Huntsville lacks a really good Italian place.

And I hope the bars / food at City Centre work out. Could use more places to get a purple cup near Big Spring.

[–] Publix on Hughes Grand Opening amwpurdue 7 points ago in HuntsvilleAlabama

This now puts 5 Publix, 2 Krogers, 2 Walmarts, 2 Targets (one not Super), 2 Aldi's, Sprouts, and Earth Fare all within 12 minutes of my house.

[–] Things NOT to do in Huntsville amwpurdue 2 points ago in HuntsvilleAlabama

Yeah, I don't like when anyone does it. I think it seems like the Democrats have moved farther left (and I might add the Republicans farther right), but I think that's because of the more outspoken members and the issues that are constantly talked about. Bernie, Cortez, Warren have a lot more attention and are definitely the farther left identifying more as democratic socialists.

However, I don't think that means ALL democrats fall in line, nor do ALL republicans fall in line with their party. Doug Jones is exactly the counterpoint as his vote is 50% aligned with Trump's position. I urge you and everyone to look at each candidate regardless of party, and find which issues matter the most to you. I don't agree with all the democratic goals, being more of a centrist, and have voted for members of multiple parties.

Notice I said "don't vote for Mo", not all republicans. Right now I don't think Mo is a good representation of our district. I don't disagree with EVERYTHING Mo's done, but I am more aligned with Joffrion's views right now.

let us vote for a far left socialist so that the United States can become Venezuela

Let me just stop you there. The moment you start fear mongering lets me know that you're not one to participate in an intellectual debate. If you have to resort to name calling and hyperbole to make a point, you're not going to convince anyone other than your own base.
