[–] AITA for sending increasingly aggressive texts to roommates who don't wash dishes or clean up messes atokachase 1 points ago in AmItheAsshole

One roommate is moving in two months for grad work and the other is living with us because he went through some tough times and needed a new place to live. He's a super close friend so asking either of them to leave is not something we could do, unfortunately.

And doubly unfortunately, all the dishes and silverware are mine, which is why I hid them at one point, as I can't just chuck them in the trash.

Yeah, we've mentioned it in face-to-face conversations many times. Usually we're bitter about it when we bring it up, because the mess is out of hand. But we've all had wildly varying work schedules lately, so the best I can do is mention it quickly when someone gets home from work super late in the evening, so I've found texting is easier when we're all awake early in the day and can look at our phones

Thanks, I'll give this a shot. We've definitely done the face to face thing, but it's been more of a pleading or bitter tone when approached. Not a sit-down, heart-to-heart type thing which might get the point across a little more. We always tend to do it when there is a huge pile and we're pissed off. So maybe doing it before it gets out of hand again would be the right way.

They're super close friends and great people, just horrible fucking slobs. And unfortunately, no, we can't afford to move out on our own right now. We live in a super expensive area and don't have the best jobs at the moment. One more year of roommates before trying to find our own place
