[–] AITA forbidding my wife from using my daughters old room bean_boy9 1 points ago in AmItheAsshole

I'll go against the grain and say NTA. Maybe I'm ridiculously sentimental, but even if I had recovered there's no way I'd let that happen to the old room.

[–] Matt Groening's Disenchantment is back on September 20 bean_boy9 7 points ago in television

[–] Advice for a weak southerner? bean_boy9 1 points ago in teenagers

yeah, generally. at the same time a lot of the culture breeds negativity.

[–] Captain Marvel vs Thanos bean_boy9 1 points ago in marvelstudios

I think if its directly being wielded then you get the passive power. The gauntlet limits it to an activation thing.

[–] Science: Am I a joke to you? bean_boy9 4 points ago in thanosdidnothingwrong

[–] What's something everyone needs to be reminded? bean_boy9 -2 points ago in AskReddit

Obviously the subs themselves don't violate laws. But communities like these can definitely influence people to commit violence if the focus is literally on such a topic. I'm not talking about something stupid like r/4chan causing people to hate minorities, I mean if a sub exists to purposefully brigade, spread extreme hate (probably to a specific group of people), or call to violence.

Lets take r/jailbait for a more concrete example. That WAS a subreddit which had the explicit purpose of producing content that was bordering child porn. I'm not exactly aware if something of that nature is illegal by default, but do you want something like that to exist in the name of free speech?

Furthermore free speech doesn't apply in the same way to Reddit. You can try to call out their self proclaimed "bastion of free speech" status, but they have to make money. It's not a government entity in any way, but you would have a point if it was. You can just go to another platform if you disagree with the level of censorship. Yeah, they quarantine subreddits for less serious reasons which I disagree with, but not every single quarantine is without purpose.

[–] What's something everyone needs to be reminded? bean_boy9 -2 points ago in AskReddit

because some of them violate laws and support targetter harrassment. This is not good for the people being targetted and especially not good for reddit's (a non government entity) advertisers.

[–] Fight fire with fire bean_boy9 74 points ago in thanosdidnothingwrong

the stones were reduced to atoms that couldnt realistically be wielded together. Fundamentally they still exist.

If Mysterio from FFH is to be believed, the snap had unintended consequences. The lack of stable stones may have some as well.

[–] When you’re discussing Endgame with someone who didn’t enjoy the movie. bean_boy9 3 points ago in marvelstudios

Infinity War was airtight because they had a lot of necessary ground to cover in those 2 hours and 45 minutes. It was obvious they had to show Thanos getting the stones and a lot of it was just laid out by default. Endgame on the other hand was much looser because they really only had the vague plot point of time travel to go on.

[–] Hot Topic Employees of Reddit, what are your horror stories? bean_boy9 22 points ago in AskReddit

is it just me or does the picture not sound that creepy? besides it being in a sales presentation.

[–] You guys are the best. No, seriously. Thank you. bean_boy9 15 points ago in thanosdidnothingwrong

I think that part was just so people wouldnt know he already had 4 stones by this point.

    [–] A message for y’all bean_boy9 22 points ago in gaming
