Interesting, I didn't know that. What makes .png's larger? Is it adding metadata?

[–] Jambi Lady bricked_machine 2 points ago in ToolBand

    Wow, she's awesome.

[–] 6 Stages of Debugging bricked_machine 1 points ago in ProgrammerHumor

I'm going to hang this up at my desk where QA can see it.

Their pain is real, and I'm the cause.

    I'm so, so sorry.

[–] But... Why would you do that? bricked_machine 10 points ago in programminghorror

In my experience, it's best to wait until you're out of school to do lines - especially massive ones.

I hope this establishment gets shut down. Business owners/merchants that decide they're above the law and can do whatever they want to patrons (like the customer is lucky they're allowed to be there in the first place) don't deserve to be in business IMO. It's hubris.

Reminds me of the restaurant in the movie "Date Night" - "Claw, you're welcome!

I'm late to the party, but that was entertaining. Thanks for posting.

BTW, nice username. We'll be seeing the final GoT season before the new Tool album...

That's one word for it. Others come to mind. "Insufferable", perhaps.

YTA times 1000. He's 8. I have a son almost that age. It breaks my heart to think of what this would do to him.

Parenting is tough. I get it. You have to come up with better solutions (and yes, that's sometimes easier said than done). I just seriously hope you never do anything like this again.

I'm actually relieved to hear that. A bit awkward though.

OK, I'll take the bait. Here's some reading for you, if you can manage to pry yourself out of your ill-informed bubble:

And that was just from a quick, 30-second Google search. If you'd put just a tiny bit more effort into investigating something before refuting a statement with absolutely no knowledge of the topic, perhaps you'd realize that you are in fact the one that should "just stop".

I know it's hard to believe that something that's opposed to an opinion you've formed through absolutely no experience or expertise whatsoever, but just try pulling your head out of your ass for a few minutes and trying to understand the world beyond your little bubble. Your tired use of the "hippy" stereotype just illustrates how uninformed you really are.

Edit: oh, I just looked at your comment history. You're one of those parasites that has turned being an internet asshole into a hobby. How cute. Well, if it makes you feel better about yourself, go right ahead. The rest of us will go on living our lives while you're holed up in your mom's basement.

    We wants it, Precious.

Are we not going to talk about the Gandalf sitting there?

[–] C# 8: switch statement, some thoughts bricked_machine 8 points ago in csharp

I'm thrilled about this. The requirement for "break" bothers me so much that I always find myself trying to get around it somehow, or not using switch altogether. To me it's just clunky and graceless.

There's a problem in the Utah and Arizona desert as well. It's not that it won't decompose eventually, but the ecosystem is extremely fragile and can barely handle the amount of human traffic as it stands now, not to mention all of the shit that is produced by backpackers. There are pretty specific rules in a lot of areas (including BLM land) about packing it out, but it seems that few do.

Edit: BLM = Bureau of Land Management

[–] I have no words bricked_machine 5 points ago in trashy

Oh, I don't know. There seem to be quite a few in my county who would love this. There's such a mix of liberals and conservatives here that the latter seems to find any way they possibly can to OWN THE LIBS.

[–] An awesome & unique cover of Stinkfist bricked_machine 3 points ago in ToolBand

I'm always looking for female vocalists in this sort of genre. She has a great voice, and this is really a well-done cover. Thanks for posting.

+1 for Catherine Wheel. First two albums are excellent, as is Like Cats And Dogs.

I thought really hard about this until I realized I was thinking way too hard about it.

Orange you glad your code compiles?

I can point you to some sites...

[–] Steven Wilson & Maynard should do a Collaboration! bricked_machine 3 points ago in stevenwilson

I seriously disagree that MJK isn't hard-working. Hard-working doesn't always translate to putting out records every 18-to-24 months. There are other people involved with his three major musical projects upon which he depends.

I'd heard something similar, and in fact Hooper was quite marginalized and in the end, didn't have much say in the final process.

IIRC, there's a letter out there somewhere that Spielberg wrote to Hooper "thanking" him for his involvement (or something like that).
