[–] Spent the night up on Tom Dick and Harry Mountain (OR) last February...brrrrr! This was our sunrise (OC)[1335x2000] celica90 3 points ago in EarthPorn

Yikes! I can say I have only forgotten my SD cards once when I went out for photos...I quickly learned and have them stashed everywhere now

Yes, I sell full resolution versions of all my photos for $50. They are to only be used for personal use and can't be used to create a print. If you are interested shoot me a message. Thanks!

Whenever someone buys a print it is extremely rewarding and also helps support my insane gas bill from driving all over the place. If you are really interested please feel free to visit my website for more info. www.rosssvhphoto.com or you can message me directly

    Thanks!

The view looking North from the summit of TDH mountain is one of my favorites! I feel lucky to have gotten this insane sunrise burn on our first time visiting, but getting this shot was more of a struggle than I had hoped for. We hiked up the day before with our backpacking gear to try and get sunset, spend the night and shoot sunrise in the morning. We ended up taking the wrong path after reaching Mirror Lake and one of my snowshoes broke on the way up. The last mile of our hike ended up taking over 2 hours trudging through deep snow. I don’t think I’ve ever been so exhausted. Luckily we still arrived at the summit before sunset to give us time to find a good spot to set up camp and find a composition for sunset. It was our first time camping in snow and well...we weren’t very prepared, but we’re still alive! I checked the weather once we got home and it had gotten down to 5°F with a lot of wind. It was all worth it to wake up and capture this awesome burn to share with you all.

Shot Info: Nikon D610 w/ Nikon 16-35 f/4 ISO100, 16mm, f/8, .5s (Processed in Lightroom and Photoshop) Two shots were used for depth of focus - one for the foreground and one for the mountain/sky

No worries with the questions, we all started somewhere :) For my pano over crater lake the milk was really high in the sky when I shot it making the ratio of sky to land almost 1/3rd land and 2/rds sky which really helped keep the aspect ratio at 2x3. I then used the transform tool to stretch it a bit higher to make it closer to a square for social media (ctrl-t in Photoshop for the transform tool)

That is so cool - and I do love beer :) I ran an 8.8k once and I decided I don't like running anymore

Thanks for taking the time to look! The milk isn't blurry or soft, I used star reduction which gives a result I prefer. Plus with the moon starting to come up you lose a lot of detail because it's just so bright. You should look up star reduction if you like the end result!

The clown puncher?!? I'm in love with that. That's sounds like a sweet run, how far was your total leg? Or did you run the entire 218 miles just in like a month haha? I don't run much ;)

Your alarm goes off at 1am and you struggle to decide if it's really worth leaving the comfort of your makeshift car-seat bed. Throw on some extra layers and grab your camera bag as you shuffle off down towards the sound of waves crashing. Hiking down the overgrown trail, destroying the efforts of countless spiders and twisting your ankle on what seems like every step. You finally pop out of the brush and you're now on a near vertical cliff with nothing but rocks and waves to break your fall 100ft below. Nestled in on a little outcrop you turn your headlamp off and as your eyes start to adjust to the darkness you remember why you got out of the car in the first place.

What a sappy piece of garbage, am I right?!

This is part of the coastline along Samuel Boardman State Park. It's a stretch of 12 or so miles of some of the most impressively beautiful scenery I've ever seen. It's pretty far away from any bigger cities and as a result I've never seen too many people in the area. I almost always have the place to myself wherever I go.

The milkyway was taken before the moon came fully up with the Samyang 24 f/1.4 at ISO6400, 24mm, f/2, 13s (stacked) with the foreground taken just as the first light of the moon started hitting it with a Nikon 16-35 f/4 at ISO800, 24mm, f/4, 120s.
