[–] Hiragana chart showing the kanji they came from cru_urc 4 points ago in LearnJapanese

There is a thing (comedy duo?)called よゐこ read as よいこ. That’s about the only place I’ve ever seen it.

I’d just like to say that I feel everyone is being a bit harsh. I’m not a native speaker or anything, but I can read all of your hiragana just fine. As other people have said there’s just a few “neatness” areas to look at, but overall you’re doing great!

[–] Employment Questions Thread - Non-Teaching Questions cru_urc 1 points ago in teachinginjapan

Hello everyone. Around last July I signed up with a company called ALTIA, but ever since they applied for my COE I've heard absolutely nothing back except "we have more candidates than usual this go around so we'll have to see." Basically, I'm looking into other options such as grad school, but I wanted to know if there would be any ramifications for telling them I no longer wish to be with the company. The only "contract" I've signed is a general one with the period of employment and the salary and benefits laid out, but there has yet to be a full contract dictating where I would be going or actually having a job so to speak.

Basically, Should I tell them I'm no longer available and just try for JET and Grad school? Also, would they be able to hold any weight over my decision and "lock me in" so to speak?

I'm guessing student loans count as well then. Thank you for your answers btw.

Ok. As a follow-up question. Would it be a bad idea to use the money for anything just before applying for Medicaid? Or Would that be considered evasion of some sort?

For 嫌い. I would personally use the verb 嫌われる which means "to be hated". So to say "seems to be hated" it is 嫌われそうです. Or "its as if they are hated" 彼が嫌われているみたいです。 I'm not fluent but I think this is a bit closer to what you want

[–] Confusing similar kanji. cru_urc 1 points ago in LearnJapanese

True. I think writing will, more often than not, help you understand the language on a deeper level, solidifying memory and tye like. Situations like this a though...they make my brain deflate for a minute.

[–] Confusing basic words cru_urc 1 points ago in japanese

Yeah the others are right. English is oddly ambiguous and vague sometimes, a lot of words technically covering 2 or more meanings in where other languages use other words or grammar. The more you read correct sentences in your lessons the more clear it will become with time. 頑張って!
