    Redditors have no patience for publishers or agendas because it defeats the purpose of a vote system. Posts earn their attention because a group of users decided they would, not because the maker of the post paid for it. I think for now reddit’s safe in terms of being ad-free. But I could see how down the line, the more mainstream the site becomes, the more advertisers will try to squeeze their way into the front page.
