[–] What should be illegal, but somehow is not? docious 2 points ago in AskReddit

Using product packaging to trick consumers into thinking they are buying more of something than they really are.

[–] Cypress Tree Tunnel, California docious 3 points ago in MostBeautiful

Sure thing. The road isn’t very long and shoots off Sir Francis Drake Blvd and goes to an old radio station/museum that’s still partially in use.

The stores are just as culpable. The food manufacture knows this is not a long-term play and is most likely just going to resurface with another brand/label after this one tanks.

Grocery stores have category specific buyers whose sole job is to review products. Those buyers also know that these products don’t represent long lasting brands, and fully understand that this is a short term gain for both the store and the brand at the cost of the customer.

Point Reyes near Inverness CA. If you google cypress tunnel or Reyes it pops up on the map

[–] At what point does the superpower go from Super Speed to Time Manipulation? docious 1 points ago in AskReddit

Time dilation is not theoretical, it’s actually been measured by NASA. No qualms there.

Tachyons traveling faster than light is highly controversial and recent research/published papers suggest it’s probably impossible after all.

[–] Why do pigeons and seagulls seem to aim for people when they crap? docious 2 points ago in NoStupidQuestions

Keyword here is seem... they don’t aim for people.

It seems that way because you won’t generally notice birds shitting too much unless it hits you or somebody else in your vicinity.

[–] People of Reddit, what is one stupid reason as to why you were fired from a job? docious 2 points ago in AskReddit

For literally being 6 minutes late and having relatively perfect attendance otherwise. My boss quit that same day by leaving a post it note on his keyboard. It was corporate sabotage from the inside... my boss hates the owner.

Got a call from the owner a week later asking what happened. Explained what was going on and was offered my old boss’ job. Worked there for another 5 years.

[–] What are some helpful tips for saving money? docious 1 points ago in AskReddit

Automatic transfers (or setting up a split account direct deposit) and do not have the savings account connected to your card or viewable online.

[–] At what point does the superpower go from Super Speed to Time Manipulation? docious 1 points ago in AskReddit

According to relativity, it’s literally impossible for anything (besides light) to travel as fast as light.

[–] What fictional villain died the most horrible death? docious 3 points ago in AskReddit

That’s honestly not bad if we are shooting for the most horrible deaths in fiction.

[–] People of reddit have you ever had a lucid dream before? If so how? docious 2 points ago in AskReddit

I used to lucid dream on a semi regular basis. On multiple occasions I was able to take control over what was going on in th dream... for example I could fly at a fast speed but had to kind of pull my neck up to pull up and gravity was always trying to bring me back down. I got too close to the ground on one of my swoops and the bottom half of my face/jaw was ground away.

[–] What does a person with Alzheimer's say when they order a coffee? docious 0 points ago in Jokes

If you’re going for the easy/offensive jokes at least make it funny.

[–] Good point docious 13 points ago in WhitePeopleTwitter

You have no idea what you’re talking about.

Amazon didn’t have positive net income due to tax deductible expenses that can be most easily understood as investing back into the US economy.

TL;DR: They paid every penny of their taxes

[–] ELI5: What is the key to the city? Is it real? And what is it useful for? docious 1 points ago in explainlikeimfive

Beneath every city is a large, strong metal gate to the realm of the mole people. The key to the city opens this gate and so is a very big deal to be given it since now the responsibility of this gate is in your hands. The government also doesn’t want to alarm the public about this danger and so various natural and man made disasters around the world are used as coverups for when things have gone bad with the mole people. E.g. See San Francisco’s Earthquake and Fire of 1906, Chernobyl and the Fukushima Disaster et al.

[–] [IN] My employer is switching the vacation time policy. Can they legally revoke previously earned vacation as part of changing it? docious 1 points ago in legaladvice

NIL. From my understanding in California at least you outright own the PTO hours you have accrued. They can not be taken away.

Could be different in IN. But anecdotally I’ve heard stories of companies who had a no limit on pto that could be accrued and didn’t keep track of an operations manager’s pto they used up being forced to pay out the entirety of that employees pto in a lump sum when they left the company. It was like $20k
