Hmm good point, I just regurgitated that from a comment I had read about it a while back on reddit. After some fact checking, there's multiple theories as to how the name came about.

Yeah, Australian Shepherds are an American breed (given the name "Australian" to sound more rugged).

In Australia they use a different breed to herd cattle called the Australian Cattle Dog (aka blue heeler / red heeler).

I think you're missing the point. No one should be denying that what USA did was the correct move against the aggressor, Japan. It can still be sad to lose innocent lives; a 10 year old kid that barely understands the war needs to go through this.

How about anarcho-communism? Eliminate the state, eliminate the corruption.

[–] Supermarkets in Venezuela these days humanracedisgrace 1 points ago in WTF

Yes, but in theory, communism and socialism could be corruption free and probably work. Unfortunately, corruption has ensued in any true socialist or communist state.

Social democracy is about using socialist elements in a capitalist society. I'm not a US resident, but from what I understand you have some forms of these elements in your social security, medicare and medicaid and the affordable-care act programs. The main feature is using tax dollars to provide some basic needs to survive for everyone and curb inequality. Now you might say "I don't want to pay more taxes to pay for healthcare for others" but did you know that USA government spends more on healthcare per capita than any other country?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_total_health_expenditure_per_capita

So you spend more and get less than countries where people can see any doctor for free. Then you might hear about wait times being higher, truth is, very rarely do people die as a result of waiting, like anything in the medical system it needs to be prioritized in accordance with severity and risk; with a low risk of dying and low levels of pain you will wait longer. Of course, improvements could be made to any healthcare system.

There's a lot of services that social democracy could include. The Wikipedia article is a good place to start https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_democracy

Edit: As for handouts to the needy, they are not really enough to have any luxury and are typically barely enough to survive. The point of it is to help you while you find a job, the alternative can mean that the person ends up homeless and gets further from being employable (and no longer contributing taxes to fund the social programs). Other handouts may be for people with disabilities, the elderly, etc.

This is why you should FEEL THE BERN because it really is a better alternative than voting for the people that don't give a shit about anyone except for the upper class.

Oh so socialism and social democracy is the same?

You should see the impoverished state of people in Scandinavia and most of Europe, oh and Canada and Australia and New Zealand.

    I think you misspelled 'corruption'.
