For vaguely fitting into Reddit's violence rule. We really don't fit. I don't know why that video caused such a stir. It could have something to do with it being a white kid in the US. Or maybe it could be that the left wing media outlets are going after subreddits they don't like since Reddit has been banning subs due to media pressure.

Man that is for a reason I hope you guys understand. We are trying to survive here and it ain’t looking good.

Exactly. The content itself is objective reality. How can a window into objective reality be glorifying or inciting anything? What’s next? Street fights? Public freak out? Ban the news! The fucking news showed something violent! We glorify the ever living fuck out of violence in media in a much more dangerous and exploitative way than we do when we see reality. It’s not fucking pretty. Of course people don’t like us. They might have to see something real that they don’t like, or better yet they might not if they just fuck off and don’t watch.

These fucking people in the media trying to pressure Reddit into censorship make me sick. They just known Reddit admins have been caving to pressure so they’re doing their best to be dirty fucking muckrakers and going after things that they don’t like. Guess what, bitch? Things you don’t like will always exist. Deal with it. How about having a conversation instead of trying to shut us down. Fucking message us some questions and learn what we are all about. That would be reasonable though, and we seem to be abandoning reason more and more lately.

We don’t give a shit if people want to shitpost or post meta humor. The rule says that posts are subject to removal. We can remove them if we choose to but we usually just let the upvotes decide what people want to see. We would never remove a popular shitpost.

Reports are anonymous, but I can tell one of them was you. :) We use our flair system to make it easier for people to search by method of death. We don't require proof if death is plausible, but we will remove videos if proof of survival is provided. Usually in cases like this, a little painless digging through the comments will yield a source. The best we could do would be to pin a message with the source information and credit the user who posted it. We do it sometimes, but we're a bunch of lazy humans so sometimes you'll just have to dig if you're curious enough.

How so? We very rarely remove anything. We tag things as not cringe usually if the posts become popular. Our rule says “subject to removal” for a reason. We don’t argue about what is and isn’t cringe. And also, we make the fucking rules and we can do whatever the hell we want in reality, we just choose not to because we aren’t a bunch of power tripping dickheads. Do you understand that concept?

Cringe is subjective. I don’t decide what makes people cringe. We try to flair things appropriately but we don’t remove posts. I lean left politically on most things but I stay neutral when it comes to deciding what should and shouldn’t be allowed. We all do, regardless of our political beliefs. If you see a moderator abusing their power let me know and I will take care of it.

As far as cleaning this place up, I have thought about it. It would be a disaster though, and like I said I don’t believe that my subjective view should decide what should and shouldn’t stay. Why do you think your subjective view is correct?

Dude I'm 31 and "I'm the only child in this relationship" is a fucking perfect description of how I feel. Your post is very rational and objective. You'll get no downvotes from me.
