And I don't think it has something to do with Somalia, the breed comea from the US as long as I know

I did a bit of research.

They are an offshoot of the Abyssinian cat.

Abyssinia is the ancient Ethiopian empire that controlled a large portion of East Africa...they called it "Somali" because the empire was originally in the area we now call Somalia.

I'm Somali (ethnically) and had no idea they existed...

    Is it a rare breed?

Any movie and character can inspire someone or evoke a feeling that makes them happy.

    Exactly.

    I watched 300 in the cinemas with a friend...almost 11 years ago.

He thought Xerxes was a badass who controlled armies and was essentially a god.

I thought Leonidus' ability to persevere no matter the cost was admirable.

We came out of that film inspired by two different characters.

lime with myself Zimmer's work on these movies are a large part of my gym routine so I appreciate that

The MoS and BvS soundtracks are in my playlist as well :D

I just wish they could have had an impact on a larger amount of people.

    ditto

[–] OTHER: One of the oddest complaints about Man of Steel is that apparently Clark has no valid reason or motivation for being Superman and helping others. Here you go, haters. jamaa1995 6 points ago * (lasted edited 12 hours ago) in DC_Cinematic

Lois' understanding of Clark's personality...a man she met a few minutes ago

    FTFY

Lois is stating that he saves people, but that doesn't really explain Superman's motivations.

    Superman's reply;

"My father believed that if the world found out who I really was, they'd reject me...out of fear."

"I let my father die because I trusted him. Because he was convinced that I had to wait. That the world was not ready. What do you think?"

Where does Clark explain his motivation in this scene?

    Here you go, haters

    Please stop.

This implies each director can only operate in the boundaries Zack created.

The DCEU directors have been playing in the sand pit created by Snyder....whether they operate within his boundaries or not.

We need a new sand pit - a new vision for the DCEU.

He set the tone for the whole Squad but nobody cares because nobody triggers people like Zack Snyder

    People are triggered by Ayer.

However, they understand that he had a lot of restrictions that affected the quality of his movie.

Other than JL, Snyder had full control to create his vision in both MoS and BvS.

    Does Wonder Woman not exist?

I'm not talking about the movies but the actual universe.

The DCEU's Wonder Woman started as Snyder's vision.

[–] DISCUSSION: One of the main reason why some (or maybe just me) want the Snyder Cut of JL. jamaa1995 8 points ago * (lasted edited a day ago) in DC_Cinematic

Bruce uses it to pursue his goal. Lex uses it to make people who already distrust him because of the event distrust him even more.

What you're describing is not an actual consequence but simply the characters' reactions following the BZ Event.

It was there just not at the foreground.

It should've been in the front and centre of the film.

I'm sure given enough time we would've seen it much more.

    Given enough time?

Did you want a 5 hour cut of the movie?

The one and only gripe I have is that we didn't see was how Zods death effected him.

That is one of my gripes as well.

I know if Zack could we would've gotten two movies before JL.

    What?

Where did you get that from?

It was Snyder's decision to make BvS and JL in quick succession.

[–] DISCUSSION: One of the main reason why some (or maybe just me) want the Snyder Cut of JL. jamaa1995 7 points ago in DC_Cinematic

MoS’s unnecessary criticism really did hurt what could’ve been one hell of a Doomsday battle and a JL third act.

It wasn't unnecessary criticism, it was just understood incorrectly by Snyder and WB - to the detriment of BvS, SS and JL.

BECAUSE Superman is a bright character. Bring darkness to a Superman story and you have created a true existential personal threat to the character.

    I agree with you....somewhat.

You do know there can be darkness in a movie that has a bright tone right?

Wonder Woman is a movie about war and death...and yet it has a bright and uplifting tone.

No, Wolverine has had plenty of brighter stories.

Yes...and his "brighter" stories were shit.

Wolverine doesn't work in a bright story...just like Batman.

Oh? You think no one is complaining about BvS being dark then? No offence, but do you live under a rock?

People have different understandings of the word "dark".

The word "dark" can be used to describe the tone, the story, the visuals or the characters.

Let’s see how well that turns into seeing as how the only one who came into this with an actual vision was Zack.

Yes, because no one else was given a chance to actually execute their own vision.

And I’ve argued, watched videos, and read articles of people claiming that they’re not inspirational.

Even HISHE had that as one of their jokes.

    So?

It's subjective, you either consider them inspirational or you don't.

I have never met any people more hateful and vitriolic than the anti-BvS crowd. Merely talking positively about BvS gets you mockery, ridicule, and contempt. Of course, there are plenty of BvS detractors who are good, friendly people. Unfortunately, they are in the clear minority.

Do you know why JL got a collective "meh" but BvS is still "hated" till this day?

People wanted to love BvS...even it's detractors were excited for the movie.

Hatred is not the opposite of Love, Indifference is the opposite of love.

You talk about anti-BvS sentiment... but you ignore the mockery, ridicule and contempt shown by extreme Snyder fans.

It was my childhood film. I wanted to be him when I was young. Not because I liked how good he was, but because I thought it was cool. He wasn't a role model to me. He was just a celebrity.

The fact that you watched the movie while you were young says a lot to me.

Yes, you might not have seen him as a role model...but that's your opinion.

He was a role model to many other people...including me.

He faces problems that and trials that we all face. We can overcome the problems he does.

    What problems do we share?

    • We're not aliens from another planet.

    • Our sight and hearing doesn't undergo significant changes.

    • Our fathers didn't die in a Tornado.

    • We didn't fight an alien General to protect Earth.

What trials and tribulations has he faced that you find so common to us?

Superman should be relatable on a basic level...the person he is, the people he meets and the life he leads should be the common thread we have with him.

MoS focuses on Clark being a lonely wayfarer...instead of a kind and slightly boring farm boy.

And Snyder made him a comic book character with purpose. Instead of a boring god with a simplistic, one-dimensional personality, Cavill's Superman actually has believable human qualities.

Are you saying other iterations of Superman don't have a purpose?

Superman has never been a boring God with a one dimensional personality.

What's so believable about Cavill's Superman that is absent in other iterations of the character?

Proves why we need Snyder and his team and his whole ass vision for this universe back.

    No we don't.

The DCEU needs to turn over a new leaf.

[–] APPRECIATION: Henry Cavill doesn't just save people, he makes them see the best parts of themselves!! So proud of you, brother! jamaa1995 9 points ago in DC_Cinematic

They expect every Superman film to have the exact same bright tone again and again, and no Superman film can challenge him at his core.

Why can't you challenge Superman in a movie while also keeping a bright tone?

Superman is a bright character...so his movie should be bright.

Wolverine is a dark character...so his movie should be dark.

Time and again they have openly admitted that BvS was too dark.

It wasn't dark...it was sombre and overly serious.

Nothing happens in BvS that could really be considered "dark".

This is an undeniable fact that no one can debate.

Is this one of your "objective" statements? LOL

it will never compare to the gargantuan tantrum that was thrown by people who hate these films, that still persists today in perhaps the loudest, most immature and insufferable hatedom that the world of popular culture has ever known.

    Quite the embellishment.

He just exists to be perfect and make us forget the reality of our own lives, giving us someone to cheer for like some kind of celebrity...He basically smiles smugly in your face while he tells you "You will never be as good as me."

Did you really watch Superman 1?

I honestly don't think you have.

Superman was never perfect, nor was he smug.

However, he is an escapist fantasy...what did you expect?

    He's a comic book character.

All Cavill's Superman does is say "I am the greatest hero the world has ever known, and even I have problems. But like me, you can overcome yours. I'm not a god. In the end, I'm just a man trying to do the right thing. Now go make yourself a better person."

When did Cavill's Superman say that?

[–] season 2, episode 7 - Diablo Verde (SPOILER) jamaa1995 2 points ago in GoliathTV

He was kidnapped and about to be killed...in Mexico.

While his actions were brutal, they were necessary.

[–] How the hell did we get here? jamaa1995 1 points ago in GoliathTV

Ok, look. I ave one episode left but I am really disappointed that the kid was killed in jail. I mean wtf is the reason for that? The whole story line was to get the innocent kid out of jail. Without that, what's the point?

When he died, I stopped caring...what was even the point?

I mean the story line between JT and judge wallace ended in failure the first time. Why would they have her fail again? Crazy.

You would think the Judge's story would get some resolution...

[–] I started watching the show a few days ago. jamaa1995 2 points ago in GoliathTV

Dude do yourself a favour and stop now. The rest of season 2 is dross.

    It's too late...
