Yeah my mom had albums from Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Boston, The Allman Brothers, ZZ Top, Black Oak Arkansas, ELO, Fleetwood Mac, and so many more a I can't remember. When I got old enough, she started buying me cassette tapes of bands like Survivor, Huey Lewis, Chicago, Foreigner, the Footloose soundtrack, Bruce Springsteen and more.

I'm not sure, but it could of been anything from Pink Floyd to the Oak Ridge Boys. I was exposed to a lot of music as a kid

Yes, he and his wife have always had the knack for great photography. She still publishes some great shots all the time.

Well said! Be an adult and just talk to the other person. Being honest about in those situations works out so much better for both sides. It is cheesy AF but honestly really is the best policy.

[–] Question to streamers - what's your preferred title? jrod311 2 points ago in Twitch

Yeah i will have viewers that call themselves "fans." I usually reply as humbly as possible and say, "I don't think of you guys as fans, but more like a community viewers."

[–] Question to streamers - what's your preferred title? jrod311 3 points ago in Twitch

Yep, I never call them fans either. Feels weird.

[–] Question to streamers - what's your preferred title? jrod311 3 points ago in Twitch

Yeah calling yourself an influencer can be a stretch I agree. Especially when you are talking to other streamers. One thing I have noticed though, when talking to a potential sponsor or when looking to get a free key to a game, they like to hear that word. I always say that I have a large influence on the purchasing habits of my community, etc.

I typically call myself a streamer and if the person doesn't understand that, I elaborate.

[–] What are your suggestions for good audio equipment and reducing background noise? jrod311 1 points ago * (lasted edited 2 years ago) in Twitch

A dynamic mic instead of a condenser mic will help a lot. And you don't need phantom power for that. I have a Shure PGA48 that was $40 and it works great. You do need an audio interface or mixer though since it is an XLR mic. I don't have to use a noise gate in obs with it.

Condenser mics are designed to pick up more area noise. Where dynamic only pick up what is right in front of them. You won't hardly get any keyboard noise. Radio DJ's use dynamic mics for instance. Same with singers and people who talk on stage such as comedians.

[–] Any idea of when subs are coming to affiliates? jrod311 3 points ago in Twitch

I have a feeling that they will roll sub buttons out to affiliates over time. My thinking is that if you have been successful with bits, you will be towards the top of the list to get your sub button first. I could be wrong though. Keep encouraging your viewers to watch those ads for bits and buying bit packages, it helps us all to show that non partners can drive revenue to the site as well! I typically say "thank you for using bits as it not only supports me but also Twitch as a whole."
