[–] Smoking weed on my period feels like Christmas ;) justtiptoeingthru 1 points ago in trees

Yep. I had to switch to cannabis and Tylenol after I developed an allergy to Ibuprofen. An allergy that got me sent to the ER with an all over rash and swelling of the insides of my throat (I could still breathe but I had to focus a little on it).

Ahhhh! Thank you for explaining. That’s really awesome that the water infrastructure in those lands is so improved that people don’t have to boil water before doing anything with it.

[–] Can someone that's deaf learn how to pronounce French words since it's not phonetic? justtiptoeingthru 2 points ago in deaf

Alright... I should’ve considered how languages change from formal/informal. Also, what’s in books is not necessarily so on the streets (so to speak).

    Thanks for explaining.

    ???

Unlike English, French grammar has male and female nouns. Therefore, “chatte” is girl-cat.

    Your point?

[–] People who are 30+, how dookie was the weed of your childhood? justtiptoeingthru 2 points ago in trees

Nothing, per se... just a hassle de-seeding, plus they were included in the weight so...

I remember more than once paying for a 1/8th (3.5 grams) of weed & after de-seeding, I’d end up with 2.8 - 2.5 grams of smokable product. It was what it was. We had no recourse.

Seeds were so plentiful that, among my group back then, it was common to pull this prank: roll a joint (or two) full of seeds and put them in a communal joint bowl so whoever pulled the seed-joint would be the butt of jokes for that night because of how funny/hilarious/pathetic/etc the struggle to light the seed-joint was.

Mid-80s when I started (I’ll be 52 this fall). Weed back then was mostly brown, seedy, and stemmy. Dry as powder sometimes.

I did get lucky when I got connected with a fantastic plug in Santa Cruz who grew his own product. His nugs were just like what we get today at med/rec dispensaries, but with a few extra seeds & not as potent (but certainly galaxies better than whatever was floating around on the streets).

For three years, I drove up from LA every few months for supply. $35 for a solid 7 gram baggie full of tender, fluffy yet dense green flower. But then... he found Jesus and stopped growing/selling. Going back to shitty, stemmy, & seedy weed was literal hell.

    Thank Ent, things have changed!!!

I’m sure they can. I’m Deaf and have been since birth. I can pronounce English words. Took Spanish in high school & was able to pronounce words in that language as well. Stands to reason that d/Deaf can learn French as well. It’s all in the teaching method. Granted, I don’t know a lick of French besides: chat/chatte, beurre, oui and adieu.

For those who know even less than I do: boy-cat, girl-cat, butter, yes, goodbye.

Make sure you heat the 90% iso to nice n warm and add some coarse salt. Your piece’ll sparkle.

[–] Just a tip. ASL is not English. There’s more than one way to sign that English concept you’re asking about. justtiptoeingthru 41 points ago in asl

Great example of clear one-handed Sign. He’s holding the camera in his left and Signing with his right.

He is completely right in his comments/observations. More than one way to sign a specific English word. I remember...

I was about, eh... 5, 6 years old or so when I came home from school and told my mom she’d been signing a word wrong “because teacher signs it different”. Mom took me by the hand and we went to our bookcases and picked out a book with a red spine. “What color is that?” “Red” “That’s right” proceeds to pick another book with a different shade of red “What color is this?” “Red”. another book, another different shade “And this?” “Red”. This went on for a few minutes. Then she said something like “You see, they are all the same color red. They look different, yes, but they are all red. That’s why it’s okay to have two different signs for the same word.” I’ve never forgotten that.
