His reaction is almost worse than when guys call the girl a slut and stuff...

[–] The American Government is just like a car... kidra31r 3 points ago in Jokes

The first one is an oversimplified joke implying that Republicans are the opposite of progress, the second one is the exact same joke except it's making fun of the opposing party. I don't fully agree with either of those ideas, but I can find the humor in them. Believe it or not, there are many Republicans who aren't racist. Just because a joke goes against your political ideals doesn't mean it's not funny.

Agreed. If you think the first joke is funny you should also think the comeback is funny.

To be fair I could see myself making this mistake. (Of getting the words in the wrong order, not accusing everyone of being fake need).

I'm generally against graffiti. But I'll support anyone who gets rid of swastikas.

One of the things specifically is when they jump off the ropes to slam into the other guy. Even if the guy underneath doesn't get slammed, that's still a jump with an impressive impact.

That's what I think about pro wrestling. Sure they're faking some stuff, but they're still a lot of talent and athleticism required for some of the stuff they do.

[–] [MCU] If Asgard is a people rather than a place, why doesn’t Hela get weaker as she kills more Asgardians? kidra31r 1 points ago in AskScienceFiction

There's Asgard the physical place and then there's the idea of Asgard. Hela draws her power from the physical location, the people don't matter to her. That is, in fact, one of her main failings. She's not concerned with those she rules, she just wants to rule. For a time Thor is also worried about the physical location. This isn't bad, per say, it's reasonable that he would be attached to his home. But the place isn't what's important. Odin wasn't being literal about Asgard being people, rather the idea that the people are what makes Asgard special. Without its people, Asgard is just like anywhere else.

[–] [Infinity War][Spoilers] So Dr Strange's powers don't work on a spaceship, but they do on Titan? kidra31r 6 points ago in AskScienceFiction

And let's be honest, the range is still huge, able to get you to basically anywhere in the world. The limit would only come up in a ridiculous situation like this

[–] [Marvel] Why doesn't Captain America turn to Thor when he wields Mjolnir the way Jane Foster does? Why doesn't he even just end up wearing Thor clothes the way Beta Ray Bill does when he wielded Mjolnir? kidra31r 22 points ago in AskScienceFiction

Personally I wish they had done this, but my theory is that when you're deemed worthy you're given an appearance that reflects your heroic personality. For most people this includes increased muscle size and tone as well as a change in costume. But Captain America already has an appearance to reflect his heroic nature, so nothing else was needed.

As to why then Wonder Woman got a costume upgrade during the "Marvel vs DC" event, umm, err, she's from a different universe so mjolnir didn't recognize the costume and therefore supplied new clothing. Yeah, that's it.
