[–] 🔥 A Morning in Utah 🔥 nathanielthewise 64 points ago in NatureIsFuckingLit

I took this video- it was a crazy morning indeed. Had the whole campground to myself, in March of 2019. Woke up to this layer of snow / frost that wasn't present the day prior- such a beautiful combo with the sunrise / bison.

    Took this at Antelope Island

Thanks for the heads up. Wish people would credit when they post my work, but I know that's unrealistic expectation at this point haha

I just picked up a D-1R this week, it's amazing. The 1 series was so good for the money. Mine's a 2000

I have the RF 70-200 and am constantly blown away by how small it is. also roughly a third lighter than the ef 70-200

had the pleasure of meeting her a couple of months ago- she's a lovely human. glad she's getting picked up by the media for this, it's so creative / well-executed. hoping Instagram features it as well

[–] Light rays steaming up the valley after a few days of rain, Yosemite National Park, CA [OC] [3200 x 4000] nathanielthewise 20 points ago in EarthPorn

Taken in Yosemite Valley in 2018. Been going through old images lately, as I sit here in quarantine...

The weather was straight rain for five days before I took this. The first sun on the damp trees / ground caused everything to start steaming, it was really beautiful. Check out slide two of this album for a video of it happening. And steam / fog + light equals light rays... needless to say it was a lovely day, as a photographer.

    Taken on a Nikon D800 + Nikon 70-200mm f/4

[–] How do you market yourself over social media? nathanielthewise 2 points ago in photography

Something I haven't seen a lot of people talking about is videos. I've been on Instagram for a while and have payed a lot of attention to insights. I've found that videos have a substantially higher chance of getting on the explore page. I often see the most growth when I post them. Every account is different, I suppose, but that is something that I have noticed.

I also take landscape / adventure style photos. I'm not a filmmaker. Every once in a while, I post a simple drone video, or an iPhone clip from a beautiful scene, and that does just fine.

[–] Fade to white. A foggy day in Yosemite National Park [OC] [3200 x 4000] nathanielthewise 65 points ago in EarthPorn

Taken at Tunnel View, a popular viewpoint in Yosemite Valley last December. It had been raining for a few days at this point.. when it rains, there's a high chance of low fog here. Definitely my favorite conditions to shoot in here, and less people this time of year.

    Camera Info- Canon 5D Mark IV, Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L ii, ISO 400, 160th/sec f/8
