[–] What films that appear really innocent on the surface are actually fucked up? ozzy214 1 points ago in AskReddit

Colossal staring Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis. The trailer made it seem like I was in for a light-hearted comedy but boy did the movie take a dark twist. Barely managed to power through it.

[–] People notice a child climbing out of a window and catch him with a blanket. ozzy214 3 points ago in BetterEveryLoop

My friends and I caught a toddler that fell out a second story window in our apartment complex. The fall was way smaller than this one but the kid would have still been seriously injured had we not been there. I still remember the confused look on the mothers face when we knocked on her front door holding her crying baby.

[–] The song of my childhood. ozzy214 3 points ago in videos

I remember I had one of these toy keyboards growing up. The other day I was at a flea market and got triggered when a little kid turned the piano on and this song started playing.

True. Maybe a more efficient way would be if a few different artists all painted their hands at the same time to complete a painting together

[–] Weekly Q&A thread for July 10 to July 17: Visiting, Moving, Neighborhoods, Dining, Skyline Pictures, and 'Where can I find _____?' - Post these questions and items here, not in a new thread. ozzy214 2 points ago in Dallas

My cousin is visiting from out of the country for the next couple weeks and he loves cars. I would have liked taking him to cars and coffee but unfortunately that's only the first Saturday of the month. He's obsessed with the Nissan GTR but also gets excited when we see a nice Corvette, Porsche, or Challenger on the road. Anyways anybody know where I can take him in the next couple weeks so he can see some cool cars?

[–] What's the most terrifying thing you've seen in real life? ozzy214 16 points ago in AskReddit

My brother and I were driving home really late one night and I decided to take a short cut through a back alley. As I turned into the dark something became visible, it was a man standing in the middle of the alley by himself. He was dressed in all black head to toe, black hoodie, black pants, and black boots. The only thing that wasn't black was his extremely pale white face, and I mean unnaturally white. We made eye contact for a split second and he quickly jumped back into the darkness. I get goosebumps everytime I think about it. Who just hangs out in dark alleys late at night by themselves?

[–] Fighting a ticket in court ozzy214 1 points ago in CarrolltonTX

So I've come to the conclusion that Carrollton makes it almost impossible to get a ticket dismissed. If you decide to fight the citation all the way through, be prepared to have to take at least 3 days off of work(paying the ticket is probably cheaper then missing all these work days). First you'll have a traffic motion court date, followed by a pretrial hearing date, and finally the trial date in front of the judge and jury, each date will be separated by a month. At the pretrial hearing they give you an offer to settle your case right as you enter the court room(about the same amount as the citation cost originally), then they basically try to scare you into paying it and advise you against taking your case to trial. They tell you that the cop will show up to the trial because they are required to do so and will be disciplined if they don't, and if you're found guilty you will also be responsible for paying the cops overtime for taking time of his schedule to show up to your trial, which could be a couple hundred dollars. They offer to show you any video they have related to your citation at the pretrial hearing but you have to wait until the other 25 people (also having their pretrial hearings at the same time) have all finished speaking to the prosecutor about their cases to watch the video, which could take a while. If you decide to take your case to trial you better hire an attorney because if you're found guilty it isn't going to be cheap.

Tldr: It's very inconvenient to fight a small traffic fine at Carrollton court. Just pay the fine.
