I've seen it on other YJs. I have a base model '94, just assumed it was aftermarket. Nice build.

    What running boards are those?

I'm doing the '99 Durango steering box conversion. Just got the pulley pressed onto the pump and the old tensioner pulley removed. I'm taking a break to figure out what fan belt I need now. It did have a 70" belt, looks like it's about an inch too small for the bigger pulley.

Any advice/pitfalls you ran into? And did you install the pressure switch?

    3 more miles to go...

Are you converting from manual steering to power?

[–] Can we ban "Yo Momma" jokes from this sub? They're old, stupid, and have been done by literally everyone hundreds of times pantalones_locos 1 points ago in Jokes

No, I had posted it on facebook a couple of months ago, and just went back to copy and paste it here. Something different with how facebook/reddit process unicode. I edited the joke above with asterisks around "their" so it should display correctly now. Also, your mother is obese.

[–] ‘99 TJ: Had this happen to me on my way home from work. Any advice? pantalones_locos 2 points ago in Jeep

You're going to need a new vehicle, so why not find a newer TJ with a solid frame? You have a parts Jeep now, fix up the new one with the good parts you have.

Used to be an Eng in the 963rd that could clear out the flight deck and comm. His call sign was Stinky. RIP.

I've seen a couple around my area for sale, really cheap. Other than the ugly factor, what is wrong with them? Interiors were really nice and reviews were favorable.

That is one of the biggest things I learned and loved after retiring at 20: peace and relaxation. I earn more now with less responsibility and fewer hours. Quality of life shouldn't be underestimated when making the decision to retire or press on. One of my biggest fears was losing the feeling of belonging to something that I loved. So, I got a job supporting the same mission, just on the civilian side.

Absolutley; I should have made a disclaimer. If you're an E-7 at 20, you have the opportunity to make more money by retiring (especially if you get a disability rating of 50% or more) instead of staying in to HYT. I just retired at 20 and make enough money now to retire fully in less than 10 years.

We're going to live on a boat in the Bahamas for a few years.

Sometimes it isn't really worth it. If you know you can get a civilian job making the same amount of money, retire at 20. You're income just increased by the amount of your retirement check. Max out your 401k and other investments and for realsies retire earlier.
