[–] MCU Film Timeline up until Infinity War. Do you agree with it? patrickoriley 0 points ago in marvelstudios

According to Homecoming, Civil War takes place at least 8 years after Avengers.

Wow, a thousand reposts and nobody noticed he actually landed in the water.

I make it a point never to bet on things that I want desperately to happen to avoid double disappointment.

[–] What if? Infinity War came out in 1990? patrickoriley 1 points ago in marvelstudios

Makes sense. He played Skeletor in Masters of the Universe.

[–] The Apple TV subtitles for Dreamworks' Penguins of Madagascar completely ruin my favorite running gag patrickoriley 2 points ago in mildlyinfuriating

It's a joke on actor's names. Each comment is an actor name pun in the dialogue and needlessly paraphrased to ruin the pun in the subtitles.

[–] The one and only time where the movies will actually reference the shows. patrickoriley 0 points ago in marvelstudios

That's what I would say too. No reason to piss off the fans of the shows if you are trying to sell them tickets.

I've seen season 1 of AoS and Daredevil, half of Luke Cage Season 1, and the Jessica Jones Pilot. They are not good and I stopped watching when I realized nothing would ever effect the MCU. You will too.

What you are describing is a reference to the movies in an episode of the show. I am not sure how to dumb this down any further.

If I write a fan-fiction wherein Quicksilver is resurrected and also a team of people fix a helicarrier for the Avengers, it doesn't mean Quicksilver is now canon alive and Fury was making a reference to my fan-fiction. It means I crafted my fan-fiction around details of the movie. If Fury mentioned characters who originated on the show, or if they cameo'd on the bridge you would have a point. You might even have had a point if there was nobody else he could possibly be referring to by "old friends." As it stands you do not.

I do not need to watch the show to understand Fury's comment though. That's my point. Nobody in the theater was like, "Old friends?" They just assumed logically, as I did, that he meant the people he brought with him. This does not constitute a reference to the show. I'm happy for you that it seemed like he was referencing a show you invested a lot of time in, but it is too vague to consider a clear reference to AoS. Coulson is still dead in the MCU.

I haven't made a mistake. I said the MCU hasn't referenced the MTU and you said "you haven't even watched the episode." Nobody is arguing that the show doesn't reference the movies. My argument is that the MCU has not referenced the MTU. Maybe it will down the line (it won't) but it hasn't yet.

[–] The one and only time where the movies will actually reference the shows. patrickoriley 1 points ago in marvelstudios

Where? Where did the MCU ever specifically mention the MTU? It's not in this post. Fury is clearly talking about Maria Hill, War Machine, and the Shield agent from Winter Soldier. If he meant the AoS they would have been there on the ship. They weren't.

Fox and Sony also have Marvel movies and share characters with the MCU. You yourself explained "there are no sides its both Marvel."

Might as well pretend Fox's X-Men or Sony's Venom are the MCU if Marvel is Marvel. AoU makes no references to AoS.

Also: Nobody is desperate to see the TV characters in the movies? Are you new to this sub?

[–] The one and only time where the movies will actually reference the shows. patrickoriley -1 points ago in marvelstudios

Is that what I said? Literally? Or did I say I tried and they were bad?

I understand your desperation. You are hoping the MCU will eventually reference the MTU to justify the time you've invested, but it isn't going to happen. I'm sorry.

Remind me when I said I hadn't watched any of them? I'm sorry you wasted so much time watching these garbage shows, but a decade from now they will be as relevent to the MCU as all the un-canoned Star Wars books are to that franchise. Once the movies get around to rebooting Daredevil and Punisher with new actors it will be officially seperated.

The movies (such as in the picture above) have never referenced the shows. The shows are bad and not Marvel Studios products.

I tried. I prefer Marvel Studios products. I actually don't understand why non-Marvel-Studios shows get so much press in this subreddit. Coulson is dead in the MCU.
