[–] I was looking at Joe Biden’s official platform and cringed when I got to the “ending gun violence” section. Here’s just a sample of the terrible ideas his campaign is preaching plan-tries-scale 1 points ago in Libertarian

    • Guarantee this won't get passed. I strongly dislike the NRA but they are powerful and are strongly against this.
    • Criminals do not follow laws, by definition.
    • Buyback weapons of war? Ok, ill be open to discussing, but first a gesture of goodwill, disarm the police and military in the same way? Feel safe? No? Then let me keep what makes me feel safe.
    • 1/month doesn't prevent anything. I can still stockpile.
    • Why does it matter if I get my ammo from Walmart or online? Shoot. Give me an Amazon Basics Clay Pigeon.
    • Give states money to incentive them to charge citizens more money? So the government double dips now?
    • Smart guns are a dangerous marketing term used to track and stifle legitimate uses of weapons.

    [–] A Primer on Public & Private Roads plan-tries-scale 2 points ago in Classical_Liberals

The public/private collaboration presented here would likely fit the classical liberal ideals. No harm in discussing different ideas.

And to an extent if you invite me in and tell me to take off my shoes, i should respect that. Same with Reddit saying you can use our service but follow these rules.

You should absolutely be free to start up such organizations.

I recently made a post about this topic over on r/VoteGold. Here's the link

[–] Would pure libertarianism devolve into anarchism? plan-tries-scale 1 points ago in Libertarian

I consider anarchists to be the libertarian extremists. Democrats have communists, republicans have authoritarians, libertarians have anarchists.

The party officially accepted them with the Dallas Accords but that's my opinion on the matter.

[–] Question about lack of clear foreign policy plan-tries-scale 1 points ago in Libertarian

Speak softly and carry a big stick.

Being neutral does not mean hands off. Many times with a lot of power others will try to sway you to their side, that doesn't go away because of neutrality.

That comment was actually what inspired me to do this research tonight, so thank you!

[–] It's not about winning the election. plan-tries-scale 1 points ago in Libertarian

Being a Libertarian in Russia must be even smaller of a political minority.

[–] It's not about winning the election. plan-tries-scale 1 points ago in Libertarian

Local / state has a chance at winning. Federal if we can get 5% a lot of resources and automatic ballot access (something that takes a lot of our resources to get) starts to happen in future elections.

[–] Freedom is more important then safety. plan-tries-scale 1 points ago in Libertarian

Im not sure what that has to do with the effectiveness of masks. You're referring to the messaging (which should have been much better) not the effectiveness.

[–] Freedom is more important then safety. plan-tries-scale 1 points ago in Libertarian

Do some research, with credible scientific sources, on the effectiveness of masks. If you still don't see the benefit, fine. I agree government should not mandate use but I am all for individuals wanting to better their knowledge, and act accordingly for the health of themselves and others.

[–] Freedom is more important then safety. plan-tries-scale 1 points ago in Libertarian

Agreed, but as a fellow citizen, i will always tell people to wear masks.
