[–] Warren: Tax millionaires to pay for free child care progressiveoverload 4 points ago in politics

Just out of curiosity, what do you like about her policies more than Bernie’s? I’m for Bernie but Warren would be great, too.

[–] Trump’s national emergency looks like a 2020 loser progressiveoverload 3 points ago in politics

You shouldn’t be. It has nothing to do with being gullible. He is giving them what they want. They don’t care that it is hateful and stupid. They are hateful and stupid people embracing their own hate and stupidity.

[–] What are all the little extras I got with this sundew? Also the white stuff? progressiveoverload 9 points ago in SavageGarden

California Carnivores are so great. The white stuff is probably dried sphagnum moss bits from packing.

[–] The US Not Immune to a Fascist Takeover by a Demagogue progressiveoverload 3 points ago in politics

Okay but as soon as we have one it is too late to do anything about it. The trick here is to avoid the spiral into fascism. Not simply point out when it is too late to do anything.

[–] Why allegations of a ‘coup’ against Trump are unfounded progressiveoverload 6 points ago in politics

Because the only goal here is owning of libs. He feels like he did it. He will tell his friends he did it. That’s really all it is.

[–] How Mitch McConnell Enables Trump - He’s not an institutionalist. He’s the man who surrendered the Senate to the president progressiveoverload 2 points ago in politics

I don’t dispute any of the polling/data you list. But what is not being accounted for is the fact that right now there isn’t a clear democratic adversary to fight against like there will be in the general election. As soon as the propaganda machine can start turning out focused messages like we saw against Hillary (who had the benefit of the bulk of the Democratic machinery working for her, the next democratic candidate will almost certainly have a less established machine) those poll numbers are going to start shifting again. Republicans will do the exact same evaluation that they did in ‘16. And there will be another critical SC seat in the mix just like there was in ‘16. The electoral college is still there. Voter suppression is still there. Russian interference fake news is still there. All of the factors are still in place.

I know this is the most asked question on this sub but, are you on a high pop server?

[–] ‘Answer my question’: Fox News host grills defiant Stephen Miller on Trump’s national emergency progressiveoverload 0 points ago in politics

So then why do people who watch Fox News completely ignore him? There is no “Wallace” subgroup of Fox News viewers out there, pushing back on the administration. I submit it is for the reasons in my OP. And again, he doesn’t need to be doing this on purpose. You don’t need a tinfoil hat for this one. It’s just the way information gets processed on that filth-factory of a channel.

What do you base your assessment of Chris Wallace upon? He is a partisan hack just like everyone else on Fox. Also he wouldn’t even need to be aware of being used like this even if he is the paragon of impartiality that you suggest he is.

Too bad being rich and white counterbalances general unhealthyness.

[–] ‘Answer my question’: Fox News host grills defiant Stephen Miller on Trump’s national emergency progressiveoverload 68 points ago in politics

I think this is basically set up so that Miller looks like he has weathered tough questions without appearing to lose. After the segment when nothing happens and the more obvious Shills take over again and it is apparent that nothing will change the pea-brained fox viewers can feel even more assured that the president had acted rightly.

[–] This Trump performance is why people talk about the 25th Amendment progressiveoverload 3 points ago in politics

The house has a higher bar to clear, I think. The 25th has to be used by his cabinet which they will literally never do.

Unfortunately EOs and court appointments are important things that can probably do the most lasting damage. (Less EOs than the courts)

Of course you are absolutely right, I was merely getting my Socratic method on.

For those reading: Would you guess Bezos is anti-union for some ideological reason or a philosophical one? Or do you think it is because he gets to pocket millions and millions and millions of extra dollars if he can keep his employees’ wages as low as possible?
