    1. Use a good password and use a password manager. You can install and run some of those locally so that your data is not exposed to any servers. Also change your passwords frequently.

    2. Don't install anything from unverified sources.

    3. Use an adblocker+antivirus combo on PC.

    4. DO NOT reuse the same password for any other service.

    I am not saying that PIA is bad for privacy,it is good but not as good as Mullvad. PIA is based in US, US government can any time shut it down or ask to handover private SSL key to decrypt the traffic. It has happened before with lavabit. Check out this - https://www.privacytools.io/#vpn
