But really, how funny is that toilet underneath?

[–] Poop there it is! spineofgod9 8 points ago in crappyoffbrands

What a strange species we are to anthropomorphize our feces.

If we're talking about the same part (the end of the video), the tree bit comes from liberation, which was a vita game. It always kinda looked like crap. Not sure that excuses anything, but it doesn't surprise me much that it looks worse than the rest.

I wasn't referring to this this particular thread, just a general mindset. I agree that may appear misleading. The comment I replied to was the only one I had seen with a reasonable stance at the time I made the response. I did not read every one of the few hundred comments however, so I'm sure I missed plenty. I am truly sorry if I added to any misinformation.

The real problem is the mentality that if you call out these BS "studies" then you must be totally for wanton destruction of the environment. Lying doesn't help a problem, whether your cause is noble or not. It discredits you and makes the people who are trying to help less informed and more likely to be made fools of.

Insects are not going to vanish in a century. No credible biologist believes that. The logic I read across a couple of these articles went something like- "We've experienced a 2.5% drop. 2.5 x 40 equals 100%.... add a couple decades for realism and to get it outside our lifetimes.... and boom- INSECTS WILL VANISH WITHIN A CENTURY."

Of course we need to take action and dramatically reduce the harm being done by industrialism, but come on. Don't lie.

Seconded on heroin. The only way I could get through work back in the day. Was my coffee.

It's definitely happens, but it's rare. With similar credentials to yours I've seen it once, but it burned me bad enough to remember well. Surely not trying to upset you, friend.

Not absolutely true. It's rare enough that I don't run away until I've tried twice; but they can and every here and there will run after the first attempt. They do warn you before running at least- when they do their "attack" and the capture circle doesn't disappear during the animation then it's time to bail regardless of how many balls you've thrown.

Seriously. Twisted metal 2 blew my 17 year old mind. I got back into games because of it. Those heights were never reached again.

I would have considered buying one of these things just because of tm2; although now that I think about it I still wouldn't have because I have my old ps1 and the game disc and I can just hook that shit up whenever. Have it on my vita as well. Whatever.

Edit- Shit, I'm gonna go do that now.

2nd edit- I'm back. Mr Grimm is a dick.

Even my daughter was back then. I kinda assumed it was a boy thing. Although, now that I think about it, I never went through that phase. At 2-4 I was all about Ghost Buster's, proton packs, and ghost traps. Good old 80s.

Because we all know unwanted children commonly born into poverty make up the highest proportion of biologists at the forefront of medical science.

I had 3 views when I went to watch it as well. Took a screenshot it was so weird.

I would like to add some personal insight on this.

When I was an infant, I was found to be extremely allergic to the pertussis vaccine. I had fever that spiked at 106; and remained around 104 for 3 days. When it came time for the next round, they gave me half the shot- same results plus a week in the hospital. After that the doctor told my mother to make sure I didn't receive the pertussis vaccine again. When I get the tetanus booster in the dpt form I have to make double sure the "p" is removed.

A couple decades later when I had a kid and it came time for her 2 month vaccines I kinda panicked. Even that early on my daughter had become the center of my universe. I had dropped heroin, cocaine, and constant never ending cheap wine right before her birth to ensure I was nothing like my own parents. The kid saved me.

I was terrified that she would have inherited my pertussis allergy. She got her mmr and every other vaccine, but I absolutely REFUSED to allow the pertussis, no matter how much I was reassured that the vaccine had advanced over the years and that these things are rarely hereditary. I couldn't even consider taking the chance that something could happen and it would be my fault. That would've been suicide.

By the time she was four, however, I had seen a few whooping cough cases from living in a poorer neighborhood and they scared the hell out of me. I relented, and spent the night after her first pertussis shot in terror waiting for the fever. Not a damn thing happened, and I felt like a jackass for putting her at risk for so long. I feel like those emotions are the basis of the "anti vaxx" movement; but they are just that- emotion over logic.

[–] I don't understand how people can smoke a pack a day spineofgod9 11 points ago in Cigarettes

You will if you keep at it. At peak, I would smoke 3 packs a day. Now, it's just under 2. My brother used to say I smoked like I had just murdered someone.

When I was a teenager, 4 to 5 cigarettes a day was plenty. It builds the more life sucks. Going through an opiate addiction didn't help either, though. As with any substance, it builds over time. It's easy to increase 20 fold over many years.

Not who you asked, but I've barely touched my PS4 since getting my switch a year ago. But then, I really like handhelds.

Respect to you for your continued survival in ferriday. Jonesville damn near broke me; no joke. Used to drive over ferriday way for the only KFC in 60 miles or so, although I have no idea why. That KFC kinda sucked.

Is that little store with the banner advertising raccoon meat still there?
