[–] So we tried out the whole mobile bubble shield thing... srry_didnt_hear_you 1 points ago in apexlegends

As much as we pretend to be superior to Fortnite, we still probably have a much younger reddit demographic than typical, and people outside reddit probably flock here to talk about this massively popular game, as it's a great forum to discuss it; so they wouldn't be as used to reddit and its intricacies.

[–] UNC-Duke tickets approaching Super Bowl prices but Zion gets $0 srry_didnt_hear_you 3 points ago in nba

Is that not what already happens though? The bigger schools have better facilities and draw more talent... This just cuts out the middle man and at least lets players make some money off of their own goddamn name... Plus, fine, make it so the schools themselves can't purchase anything from the athletes directly.

Sure, booster clubs and alumnus could pay to influence players, but they're basically already doing that. Make it so any collusion between boosters and the schools themselves is penalized, and there you go.

Naive question here: what's to stop high school players from going to play in Europe immediately after graduating high school, then getting picked up by the NBA after some years of professional experience?

Does the NBA not scout in other countries' pro leagues?

The only issue with it is that the projectiles are slower than bullets, but once you've adjusted and started leading your shots, uffda, felt like a boss

Tbh, I wish the traversal was better... It could have benefitted greatly from being more difficult.

It seems like a struggle at first, but after 10 minutes, you've already mastered it.

Make it so you actually could slam into things if you take the wrong angle. Add more weight to it, so it doesn't feel like you hit a max speed despite how good your timing is. And lastly, make it so the webs you shoot out actually hit a building in front of you when pressing the triggers... It seemed like a bit of a cop-out to have them magically hit buildings that were out of sight already and you'd still be going forward.

Now, it's still pretty great, as is, and I did have a lot of fun with the game. But if they just tweak some things in the second installation, while keeping the quality story telling, it could truly be GOTY

Seriously! If companies have catered to the consumers consistently and put out quality products instead of taking the easy route and making a quick profit off of uninspired games, we should reward that, and show bigger companies that this method IS profitable in the long run

(and on top of that, it'd show that making fans happy will allow them some leeway when they do fuck up and put out a stinker)

Okay if he's wrong, then how come short term gain comes before long term sustainability is a thing for nearly every publicly traded company?

Edit: i got a few comments on this one, but yet, no one has told me how the guy was wrong...

[–] CNN hired a GOP operative with no journalism experience to run its 2020 coverage srry_didnt_hear_you 3 points ago in politics

This is seriously so incredibly idiotic... This is taking "if you don't study history, you're doomed to repeat it" to fucking goldfish levels of intelligence.

Awesome! Now can we have more than 4 fucking debates for the primaries, this time?

[–] Trump appoints son-in-law of new attorney general as legal adviser, prompting conflict of interest fears srry_didnt_hear_you 4 points ago in politics

Agreed. But that's not the only issue here... Sure, Trump lost the popular vote by 3 million or so... But I think something like 80 million people DIDN'T vote at all... Which is pretty horrendous

[–] Apex Legends leaks reveal survival mode, new Legends srry_didnt_hear_you 25 points ago in PS4

Yeah that's what I was thinking... Isn't battle Royale basically survival mode anyways?

60-100 players land on an island, last one standing is the winner... Doesn't matter how many kills you have, as long as you lasted longest?

    I love this title.

Theres no subtext or reading between the lines. It's literally just a black cloud. Like, literally. A black cloud. That's it.

Okay, you win, not all companies are strictly about making profits above ethics.... But you have to be naive to think that the vast majority of biggest corporations aren't

Yeah, I loved Black Panther... But if a superhero movie was gonna make "Best Picture" noms, it shoulda been Into the Spider-Verse
