[–] Looking for a comfy, long lasting lipstick stefanielaine 1 points ago in drugstoreMUA

The second one, the one with the separate gloss stick. I didn’t know CG made a two-ended color & gloss, have you tried it?

Changed my life! It’s not universal unfortunately - a lot of long wearing formulas disintegrate when you put gloss on top - but my favorite thing about Ink Matte is that it holds up even better with gloss on it.

Maybelline Superstay Ink Matte with Cover Girl Outlast gloss on top is my holy grail. I find the Ink Matte too dry in its own but with the gloss on top it stays comfortably put all day. Yesterday I wore it in the shade Romantic (bright pink) and it was still flawless after 9 hours.

Not OP but I tried it based on recs here and it’s amazing. It’s the first primer that actually feels worth wearing to me.

This is amazing! How do you wear lip oil and matte lipstick together? Which one do you put on first? Lip oil always breaks down lipstick on me!

LOVE the color and the shape - that neckline is going to make for amazing photos. Yay!

[–] A little late, but here’s my awesome Christmas haul from my amazing husband! stefanielaine 8 points ago in drugstoreMUA

Superstay Ink Matte in Pioneer is what I wore for my wedding! I wore the clear gloss sealant from Rimmel Provocalips on top of it. PERFECTION.

In this case yes. But “no one could possibly be that cruel for no reason” just isn’t true.

[–] Police shoot a homeless man's dog stefanielaine 4 points ago in iamatotalpieceofshit

But regardless of wording, your intent was clearly “I don’t believe someone could do something like this without a good reason” and that’s an extremely dangerous, victim-blaming mindset. People do horrible things without a good reason to people/animals/etc who don’t deserve it all the time.

People who “can’t possibly believe that people are this vile” are exactly how people get away with being this vile.

[–] What was the moment you realized your SO really, truly loved you? stefanielaine 3 points ago in AskWomen

When my now-husband met my family for the first time, he decided to buy my then-9 year old niece’s love through their shared love of board games. Before spending the week of Christmas at my family’s house, he spent weeks going through his entire board game collection and figuring out which games he could modify so my niece could play. He picked about 10 games, wrote modified rules, and taught the whole family to play, and my niece was so fucking pumped because she was right at the age where she wanted to be with the grown-ups instead of doing baby things, and she was proud to be playing games that said “12 and up” on the box. My husband doesn’t consider himself to be naturally good with kids, so the amount of work he put into making my niece happy just floored me. He’s a good one.

[–] Trying out a casual red lip look! CCW :) stefanielaine 2 points ago in MakeupAddiction

I brush my lips with my toothbrush every time I brush my teeth and I also use Revlon Mint Exfoliating Balm (not sure whether I’m allowed to do product links here) daily before lipstick - it’s super cheap, super effective, and super easy because it goes on like lip balm. After I’ve rubbed the exfoliating balm around on my lips for a while I wipe it off with a wet washcloth. Exfoliating regularly will definitely make your lips look less wrinkly!

It helps to exfoliate the holy heck out of your lips first, and be sure to apply the liquid lipstick in a thin layer so it dries evenly (that’s what works for me anyway). Good luck! You look great!

Yes!! This is an important boundary to draw as early in the process as possible. :)

[–] Advice needed: How do I tell my FIL to tone it down about my father's death? stefanielaine 2 points ago in GriefSupport

I’m so sorry about your dad.

Maybe you (or your husband) could explain Ring Theory to your father in law? If you’re not familiar, the basic concept is that you can map people who are affected by an event onto a series of concentric circles with the people most affected in the innermost circle, and everyone on the circle should comfort in, dump out. That means, because you’re closer to the death of your father than your father in law, he shouldn’t be dumping his grief onto you. He should be comforting you, and dumping his grief onto someone further away from the event.
