    [–] Crackdown 3 on PC, requires Windows 10 1607 build 14393.222 stormywaters1014 5 points ago in Crackdown

Well, I haven't had issues with any other game or app and really didn't want to upgrade, but WTF.

Goodwin Voice: Agent, keep your operating system upgraded, it helps keep you secure. If convenience supersedes security for you, then you're a liability, and we don't need you in the field.

I can also add to watch the ground. The boss will spam Chimera barrels in the center area every 3-4 loops. Don't be standing in it. any of the landings that are not on that bottom level appear to be safe.

[–] How do I kill the boss stormywaters1014 1 points ago in Crackdown

Yeah, with the recommendations of Anubis and the singularity grenade, I tore through it pretty quick. Thanks for the input, though. :)

Right, and I don't disagree with you. The rate at which you tear through the map certainly seems like the world isn't that big.

[–] What's your favorite weapon loadout so far? stormywaters1014 1 points ago * (lasted edited 18 hours ago) in Crackdown

Homing Rocket - When you need precision

Jackhammer - When you need high splash damage in an area.

    Anubis - For funsies.

    Singularity grenade.

    BOOM

[–] The defence turret missions are destroying me stormywaters1014 1 points ago in Crackdown

The first time I tried them, I got my backside handed to me. I came back later after the first tier generals were all dead, and it seemed considerably easier. I don't know if that's coincidence or not, though.

However, since there aren't that many distinctly separate areas with very different feel to them, the map doesn't feel as big.

They're definitely there if you look - The regular city, the big shantytown, the Mining district, the dump, the Casino district, the higher-class section of the city, and the Tech/Military/Industrial towers. I think the game is short so you breeze through it all a little too fast, and encourages verticality, so you're likely seeing more rooftops than streets in the endgame, so you can easily miss a lot of it.

It's not so bad. I hit level 3 agility pretty quickly at the start of the game. 4 and 5 took time, but I was a good deal past 5 by the time I hit endgame. Make sure you do the races, too. I found they were a ton of fun and helped out as they reward a decent amount of XP.

I really don't understand why this game is getting the negative reviews it's getting.

It boils down to a few things:

    • It's nothing new.

    • It's not as complex as other open world games

    • People got the idea in their head that the buildings would be destructible, and they aren't

    • It's short.

    • It spent a lot of time in development, so people feel entitled to more from it because of all of the work that went into it.

I don't think any of those things work against it. It's a breath of fresh air when compared to all of the bloated, overcomplicated stuff that comes out these days. It's simple, and it's fun, and I didn't want to stop playing until it was over.

Not sure how much help it is, but on the map menu screen, you can scroll up and down through the factions to ping undiscovered nearby locations.

Wow, Anubis is super powerful! This helped a lot, thanks!

[–] Is the no campaign and its just all a long sandbox? stormywaters1014 3 points ago in Crackdown

It's Breath of the Wild logic. You can run up and take on the boss of the game immediately if you have a death wish. Instead, it pays to capture areas/collect orbs/kill the bosses in order. There's a fair amount of story for the game, but you get it in pieces as you capture areas or kill the bosses when they pop up.

There's nothing that outright confirms it, but there's a lot more evidence for it than things I see around here often like "Marvin abused Mike/Marvin Killed Mike/Windmill Girl is Tiara."

In a story that thematically focuses on one person becoming another, we have two people that are the same age, look the same, are part of the same family, but don't remember having met each other, and are never shown or referred to as being in the same place at the same time. (though Strange situation does put them through the same motions at different times with the whole "Walking in to the door" thing.)

Then there's also Paul's whole "we were... we are the same age" statement also indicates that Care doesn't seem to be referred to as active in the present by people who talk about her, but she is technically still alive.

[–] Maybe someone knows stormywaters1014 2 points ago in Petscop

So, Care A, B, and NLM are all the same person, in various emotional states. If the "Paul is Care" theory is correct, then at some point after Care NLM, Care became Paul. (Or Reverted back to him.)

And the progress document. It may not be true, but it it absolutley a valid, working theory.

[–] Maybe someone knows stormywaters1014 1 points ago in Petscop

It's enough of a theory that it's referenced in the progress document under "same person theory":

    "You just hit the jackpot!"

[–] In Petscop 6, why does Marvin assume Paul knows where the house and school are? stormywaters1014 1 points ago in Petscop

The message is very much likely meant for Paul, as it is implied that the game he's seeing is pre-programmed for him. It's a notion that is confirmed when Belle runs into Marvin in Petscop 12, and he's playing out the exact motions that Marvin does for Paul before they go into the school, but Marvin doesn't talk to her, as she's not Paul.

In the end, I think Marvin asks Paul where his house and School are because Paul either knows where they are, or otherwise knows how to find them. This fits in with Twins theory, or Paul is Care theory.

[–] Is There a No Colors/No Arrows mod for the game? stormywaters1014 1 points ago in beatsaber

Right. Sorry for not being clear, but I mean something that would let you do two sabers, no colors and no arrows. I know you can turn off arrows, and technically do "no colors" by doing one saber mode, there's no native option that lets you combine the two and use two sabers to hit any block any way you want.
