I self-published a compilation book a while back and I'm editing another at the moment. It's worth the effort even if you don't move a single copy. Call it a vanity project, I just wanted to have something of mine on my bookshelf.

Intolerance is political violence. Full stop.

If an ideology is making a decision to make select groups of people into lesser beings simply for being alive (edit) and uses that ideology to effect policy (/edit), that is a political ideology.

Anything else you say on this matter is moot, as you've shown your hand long before now. Keep licking those boots and stay out of my inbox.

This is an amalgam of all the weasel words in all of your replies. You seem to think you are making a valid point. You are intentionally twisting and contorting words to fit into this framework, and it doesn't work under examination.

Suppressing those that seek to destroy the fabric of tolerance and multicultural harmony is not and will never be fascistic. Because that word (fascism) specifically refers to those that seek to destroy the fabric of tolerance and multicultural harmony.

Furthermore, anti-fascists only mobilize after the haters have made their plans known, and are actively seeking to destroy the fabric of tolerance and multicultural harmony. The haters have made the first move, they seek to do real harm to targeted individuals, and in many cases law enforcement is either too busy or intentionally blind to deal with this.

People who are suppressing fascism will never, by definition, ever be fascists themselves. Because if they were, they would be marching with the fascists, in an attempt to destroy the fabric of tolerance and multicultural harmony. They are only there to protect the fabric of tolerance and multicultural harmony, and in general seek no further violence than what is necessary in the moment to repel those that seek to destroy the fabric of tolerance and multicultural harmony.

In this reply I tried to be as specific as possible, to stay on one single point, and to ensure you know exactly what I was referring to, in an attempt to minimize the weaseling of this debate. The reason why I repeated things so many times is to minimize the distortion of the main point. And I do need to repeat one other thing.

    Don't be that guy.

He preys on the ignorant and gullible, and sells a worldview that is inconsistent with tolerance and progress.

What are you even talking about? Oh yeah...

They use misleading arguments, weasel words, and whatabouts to muddy the waters

    Don't.
    Be.
    That.
    Guy.

[–] what one album that is not TOOL have you been listening to mildly in preperation for the coming of the new one. system0101 3 points ago in ToolBand

Hard to put into words how good this album is. I've been on a music binge lately, trying to find all sorts of new stuff, but I keep coming back to this album. Sometimes multiple times a day. And then Swarm and FXMLDR in between the random haha.

[–] So for how many of you is Tool your most listened to artist? system0101 3 points ago in ToolBand

In the last few months, its been Tool, Deftones and Elder. This week, Thank You Scientist.

Ha, you're right :P I didn't want to post the link and look like a shill or w/e, but I also didn't want to leave folks here in the dark about my experience. I think I hit a decent middle ground. I'm still waiting for someone to catch the sticker's meaning IRL.

[–] Too much description is key to make readers drop your book. system0101 5 points ago in WriterMotivation

So I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum, I need to inject some detail into mine. I am very sparse with detail overall. I've gotten some very limited feedback in the past, where people wanted to know what types of trees I referred to in a passage, or the cut and color of a blouse in a scene. Those are just examples for this post, and neither detail would have added anything to the stories apart from words and depth of detail. But clearly the readers felt as if something was lacking, and I didn't, even after it was pointed out to me. It was unimportant to the scene, the character, and the narrative, but it was important enough to the readers to point it out, so it must mean something.

I took it with a grain of salt, but it sits in the back of my mind like a splinter, months and years later, and on my weaker days it's a contributing factor to my paralysis by analysis. Any tips to pull that splinter out would be appreciated.

I found it on ebay, the name of the listing was "Tool Band Learn To Swim Arizona Bay Swim Club Maynard Sticker Vinyl 4.5 inx3 in"

Smaller than I wanted, but beyond that everything about it was fantastic. Fast ship, reasonable price.

[–] Let's do this. system0101 1 points ago in PoliticalHumor

This is amazing, I might have to do this.

[–] Now that we are super close to the new album, what are some of your favorite tool lyrics? system0101 3 points ago in ToolBand

Second time through, the music and the power in his voice do it for me..

"So glad to see you, I missed you so much!"

I was gonna say all of Lateralus but I wanted to pick a single line.
