In Game Of Thrones, during the Battle of Blackwater the enemy is shown flipping a boat over and using it as a giant shield to reach the gate. Is there any historical evidence that this was ever a viable seige tactic or is such a thing 100% fiction?

    https://airandspace.si.edu/multimedia-gallery/firstimageofthemoonjpg

The first picture of the moon, intercepted from Soviet radio transmissions by the British using a damn fax machine.

But funny moments in history aside, the fact we as a species were able to leave our planet and take pictures of our moon will never cease to impress me

Had the United Kingdom lost the battle of Britain and subsequently fell to Nazi Germany, could the United States have liberated Europe?

I have visions of you spilling some kind of ammonia based hair product into your bathtub and gassing the entire house with chlorine gas

The smell of pool chlorine makes me really happy. Water parks were my favourite thing as a kid and if I walk past a public pool I stop and enjoy the aroma.

Sounds like they lost a pretty shitty employee with equally shitty work ethics.

No pet store should sell dogs period. Small furries yeah, because they don't live that long and are relatively straightforward to keep, But big box retailers selling puppies makes stupid people think its easy.

Not in the same calibre as half of these posts, but i was walking around this small, heritage WW2 museum on a camping trip a few years back. I walked into an exhibit that was a room of just wax mannequins. Those faceless mannequins in clothing stores give me the creeps so a whole room of super detailed mannequins was a big no for me. Just backed out of there without a word. Wasn't ready to die that day.
